Wishing Massdrop would have advertised the Hd6xx cables as costing 69.99 that has to be their target buyer..... To price the cables at 39.99 with a photo of the hd6xx cable, and then to not reveal the 30 dollar up charge for the Hd6xx cable until you are adding it to your cart is a bit misleading. Edited to remove disingenuous, which wasn't the correct usage of the word.
RensekAs someone happy to get cheap Van Damme cables I do not see it as disingenuous. Just accept that you were disappointed and get over it. That's a good price.
MotorradSir you are correct. Updated to reflect misleading instead of disingenuous. From my brief research it's a good price. Just wish Massdrop advertised better.
RensekIt's one of those tactics that you see on eBay. Price from $1 - $40 and when you click on it there's a piece of fluff for $1 and the real product is $40. This is even somewhat worse, you have to click 'Join drop' to get the actual product price and postage cost, which then add you to the email alerts about the product ending.
bharkernot really. The HP cables cost more than instrument cables; I don't see what is so hard to comprehend about that. I guess everything would be OK if they had different drops for the individual items. Nah, people would still find something to whine about.
RensekI agree that MD is being deceptive here by showing a Sennheiser two pin XLR cable and a price of $39.99 when the price is actually $69.99. But it would appear that that is the current market price for this type cable on the lower end. It is more than it should be but as long as people pay that amount that is what the price will be. It would be nice if the true price was reflected on the drop, it is in fact the only none "instrument cable" in the drop.
RRM1So they made you purchase it and then told you it wasn't 39.99? Because that would be deception! Listing the cheapest price for a range of available options is normal, expected and should fool only those who struggle with reading above a 2nd grade level. Since you do in fact use multi-syllabic words I'm going to assume you just need a little cheese with your whine.
MbotMy reply to RRM1 applies to you as well. Given this is the second, uninformed, non-value adding post I've seen from you in short period I am going to request you put more effort into your next endeavor.
ElectronicVicesDon't play dumb.
You know, and I know, they 'deliberately' chose to put the lesser (more appealing) price as the bait. A form of deception to not deter potential buyers. Ever heard of a loss-leader? Same principal. You must think I have Stupid written on my forehead😩
MbotYou don't? Could have fooled me.
If you buy a computer, does the initial advertised price include upgrades and extra warranty? When you see a new car advertised, do you think that price includes leather, heated seats and all other premium packages? It's standard practice to advertise the cheapest price.
ElectronicVicesActually what you described would be called "Fraud" Vices. Sorry you were triggered by my post snowflake. I do not live in a universe of alternative facts as it would appear you do.
