Koi are prized for their beautiful color patterns and lengthy lifespans—often exceeding 100 years of age. Whether you have a koi fish yourself or you appreciate their unique look and serene demeanor, this numpad from Varmilo might be the perfect fit on your desktop Read More
It doesn't feel the most premium, but I bought this to have the option for the rare occasion I may need the numpad. Where it's sitting though, it looks great.
It's nice if you don't want to do any additional customization, as there isn't really any option to. Pleasant to look at. I personally got it for the Kanagawa waves on the return.
Not a huge fan of the corresponding desk mat with the anime girl on it, but this keypad is perfect by itself for a non-weaboo Japanese aesthetic. Keys feel great as well.
I gotta say, the pictures don't do this thing justice. It took me a couple days of using it to even realize all of the subtle nods to the ocean and marine life. The delete key fish skeleton is truly apropos, the wave looks great, all the small fish in certain letter locations really fills out the vibe, and the koi fish are the cherry on top.
I ordered this because I use the Massdrop 'Alt' high profile keyboard and I need a keypad for my estimating job. I'm really glad I chose this over some of the other standalone keypad options out there as it adds a little character to my desk space.
It has a nice weight to it without being too heavy. The cherry MX blues provide a nice tactile feedback with that rewarding clickity-clackity sound.
It works as one would expect but the switches on mine seem scratchy and loud despite getting the silent red variant. Keycaps also seem a bit mediocre but the detachable cable is a nice plus.
All I can say is wow.
Started typing on it and noticed the beautiful thocc sounds, then I switched to my old ducky one 2 mini with silent reds to compare.
This lil num-pad sounds like its been lubed and filmed by a pro. (stabs are meh)
Caps have a nice slight rough texture to them that I have yet to see implemented on higher end PBT caps.
Couple cons
No rgb or even backlighting
Not hotswap
Not programmable
Not USB c
All I wanted was my num-pad on the opposite side of my keyboard. Till the day they make a board like that, this is a great alternative.
JayVon_RoI know right? Like I'm def a custom keyboard snob but thought this was an underrated design, I'd almost like to buy it for a family member just so I can try it out for using on like my Xbox Series X or something 🤷♂️. And it was nice to see so many features that you don't see much of these days like USB-C 3.0 fast charging /USB-C or A passthrough ports (since almost ALL gaming keyboards had this feature in the early 2000s, but then it started to die out and you def never see USB-C 3.0 pass-through /quick charge port. (This could have been YOU Mr Drop ALT and CNTRL with those dual usb-c ports and pass through...that's basically a wasted feature since they are both USB 2.0 output)
. 4000mah battery, 2.4gh usb wireless dongle, or USB-C to USB-C wired mode. And last but not least your choice of 3 different optical switches.
And Finally a nice looking layout with regular ANSI bottom row instead of the funky gaming keyboard mix and match sized modifiers (cough Corsair keyboards)
