Wooot wooot finally got mine today! Thank you MD for making me buy things I never knew I needed ha ha ha. But in all seriousness my bedside drawer was a regular battle ground of roughly strewn watches - some precariously close to being accidentally scratched ... So along comes this Wolf drop and now can proudly display my faces (innuendo intended) in public- well at least whoever visits ... Now in the morning I think I'll have to go "It's Tuesday so lets go the TW Steel" LOL. I'll let you know if any issues but so far all good! No blemishes, cracks or strange smells. Arrived Down Under well protected inside 2 boxes. I got the black on black one. Has hole in back center slot to run USB cable through for charging I guess but not sure how that works if smart watch comes with NFC charging. Wolf some how know what size to make the cushions as they hold my watches almost perfectly when I close the metal bracelet ones that are sized for my wrist. If I need another one I'd join a drop again without hesitation. At the rate MD offers tempting watches that maybe sooner than I think 😁
Here are some pics for those interested to see what it looks like populated (pics on drop showed empty):
First impresion - wow! Second thought - just unboxing wow...
Here are pros and cons that will give You all understanding why it is like mentioned above:
Pros:
Materials and overall quality. Leather looks and feels just like it is supposed to be, contrasting lining and pillows should be easy to clean if neccessary but most of all everything seems to be crafted with high quality standards. Oh, and glass is actual glass not plastic :)
Watch spaces are wide enough for majority of watches produced nowadays if You keep in mind to not exceed 45-46mm
Pillows are a little bit thinner than in most of the watch boxes on the market and according to that they are not distracting a user from his collection
Cons:
Regular box is ok, but the drawer option is a misunderstanding for me. There is simply not enough space for extra straps or bracelets. It is definately designed for smaller jewlery, not watch accessories.
Bottom of the watch spaces is narrowed a little bit. I think the idea was to even better expose your collection but it is totally opposite. When You add the fact that watch on a pillow is not filling the space from side to side it is impossible to set some watches the way You want them to be.
Could be a part of the above but it deserves to be mentioned separately. Watches are lifted a little and in some cases this is just not looking to good (eg. when there is a bigger clasp at the bottom)
Overall good quality watch box for the price purchased here. If I would have to pay rrp for them I would be rather disappointed than happy with them.
As a watchbox, excellent but as a valet, room for improvement...
First what I like about this box is it's well constructed and provides adequate space between each watch. Looks absolutely great display case for my collection.
Now, I understand that this is primarily a "watch box" but I purchased the model with the extra drawer with the intent of replacing my current bedside valet. The drawer option was not thought out well. Essentially, it was designed to be a "tray" that would tuck under your watch box. It looks fine if used as a tray but it's not sized to have items in it when you have it inside. For example, NONE of my rings would fit in the allocated ring stands if I try to push the "drawer" in, my rings would fall out or the drawer won't go in. Not what I expected.
This watch box is a good deal, and much higher quality that others I've purchased on Amazon. The box and watch pockets are well constructed and solid. The outer leather layer is nice and soft, and consistently applied. The lining for the watch pockets is also well done. The glass is large, clear, and seems to be well mounted.
A couple nits to pick:
First, the watch pockets are a bit narrow for many of today's larger watches. Don't misunderstand - the watches fit. My issue is that they hang over the edge of the pocket and don't fit 'within'
Second, the pockets and cushions are all lined with the same material. It's a bit slippery and I'd prefer at least the bottom of the pocket to have something with some texture so the watches don't slide around. Not that there's room for them to move much, but there is some sliding.
Lastly, the cushions feel and sound odd to me. Maybe its the fabric (I got the gray), maybe it's the foam inside them.
Overall a great watch box for the money. If you are looking for a first watch box, or an upgrade these are definitely worth your consideration.
The box is very well built and looks classy.
Only issue I have is the small gap between each watch bay. For large watches (42mm and more), the bezels may rub against each other. I have to rotate the watches to make sure this does not happen.
The box is of a nice quality but the individual watch slots are too small. The pillows are very small and do not accommodate bracelet watches well at all. The width of each individual watch slot is too narrow to handle 50 mm watches, which is most of what I own. This box is definitely for smaller watches, probably 45mm and less. Disappointing
Nice box. I paid extra for the drawer, which is my only regret. It is very shallow and not too useful for storage of straps. It does have pillows for rings and cuff links, which is nice, but I wish it were a little roomier.
