Product Description
Carved from solid black elm, the WoodLab Royal Glam stand puts your headphones on full display while eliminating cable clutter on your desk. Narrower than the human head even at its widest point, the whale-shaped design allows your cans to rest snugly without adding extra tension—so the headband won’t stretch out over time Read More
Is the stand thickness 7.5 cm again? I thought this drop would have the thicker 10 cm option available? 7.5cm thickness is too small for all of my headphones. It will cause uneven pressure on the earpads....
Well the wood were all can be made actually but I do not open custom work yet. Anyway thanks for your suggestions, the wood you mentioned really mind me something.some wood type may be very good looks!
I will try base on a receptible price
Seriously, I cannot understand how this wood would cost around 75$ (shipping inc. ) for just hanging your headphones there,
Why ? why would anyone pay that amount for such purpose? I get it that it might be 'good quality', 'good looking', but seriously?
there are so many stands for 10 bucks that do the same job, lookin' quite similar and won't empty your pockets.
Outrageous.
this is one those comments that people should just keep to themselves.
You can either help people by recommending a similar yet cheaper item rather than imposing your personal outlook on people buying this particular item and calling them dumbfucks.
So please in the future either be helpful or be quite.
kindest regards.
I made this stand in preparation for my TH-X100's. The wood is sapele mahogany and it's three pieces as well, as a solid piece 5 in thick would be special order from the mill. Even solid beams these days are sandwiched. There's still $20 worth of wood there. Even mass produced $50 is a good price. This one is finished with buffed out polyester so I would have to charge at least $100 for it to make any money.
I am personally disturbed to see this trend of more consumption of wood for the headfi/ audiophile hobby. I will pass on this this solid wood HP stand and the HP with chambered wood ear cups.
Whoops. I was replying on my phone and assumed this was under the EMU Walnut Lightweight Headphones discussion. Been looking at both items and mixed up the discussion. Silly me.
I can understand why the Black Walnut w/ Ash stand is made from laminating 3 pieces together but I can't understand why the Black Walnut stand is not made out of one piece of Black Walnut ????
Just seems an unnecessary point unless you are trying to make it less than what it could be - A stunning headphone stand.
AussieMickbeing a woodworker, I can assure you if that were a solid piece of walnut it would be upwards of $200+, not to mention, each of those pieces are most likely cut to the relative shape, then glued together, then sanded to give the shape, to try and cut that shape in one solid piece will require a heavy duty band saw, and will be more likely to break.

Thicker walnut is more expensive. Were these really 60 bucks? I made this a couple months back and only charged 35 bucks with free shipping.
1BigBadaBoomI just got my CASANUVA walnut stand from Amazon...TBH, I was a bit disappointed in the quality--it's individual strips glued together, and it's not very smooth--in fact, I have to sand it down and re-lacquer it... arguably, if this stand is carved from solid elm, it might be worth $20 more...
drsubieI love wood! The look, the feel and the smell! And elm is not that petty, especially with a funky dark stain applied!
Solid walnut, does not mean or say 1 uninterrupted piece of wood!
Wood is more stable when multiple layers (3 with the walnut) are laminated together, as in no cracking and twisting!
And if you look closely, the woodlab stand is made the same (laminated) way!
As far as this finish on the CASANUVA, mine was not perfect!
It took 1500 grit sand paper and 10 minutes, then liquid gold furniture polish was applied and now it glows!
For the aesthetics, I'll choose walnut over elm every time!
Even with the minor amount of effort it took to finish the walnut!
