The quality of this item was very poor. I do not recommend that Massdrop offer it again. The dye flakes and transfers from the bracelet. As mentioned by Laura, the stud is too large for the hole which causes distortion of the ruler. This wouldn't be as much of an issue if the hole were at the far end of the ruler, but it is at the start (1cm/inch) so the distortion would affect every measurement. Because of the stud/hole sizing issue it is too difficult to remove & put on to make it useful for measuring anything. It also reeks (not like a typical processed leather scent). I understand that the samples received by Massdrop for photography were lovely. It appears that this manufacturer cannot handle large scale orders while maintaining quality standards.

ElkeI was able to fix the smell by using leather conditioner and laying it out for a few days. I regularly check the accuracy of the ruler, and I've found it to match up with my regular ruler, despite the hole positioning.

After reading many of these comments, I wonder if I received the only non -smelly, easy to connect, non-shedding ruler bracelet. I must have because I love it! It takes a little effort to connect, but at least I know it's not going anywhere once it's on me. There is a little bit of odor, but leather smells! I don't mind it at all. So far my bracelet is not shedding, so I will just count myself a lucky duck in that. I find it strange that some want to measure things with this item, surely a cheaper alternative could be found for that job. I think this is a fun, whimsical bracelet to wear!

DaedIt’s not meant to be an accurate measuring tool. It’s a fashion accessory that can give a an approximate mmeasurement . I wear mine everyday and have used it many times. It will stretch as all leather stretches. but is not overly problematic.

DaedI'm not sure, but the one I received was thicker than belt leather and it's never going to soften up. And the stamping on it is so blurred and indistinct you can't tell it's supposed to resemble a ruler (like the second example shown in this drop). So disappointed I've been loathe to join another drop.

I did not purchase from Massdrop, but I've had one of these for a couple of years now, and have had none of the problems mentioned below. No smell, no color rubbing off, fastener works fine, etc. Leather is nice quality and I really like the look of it. The only thing I notice is that the chrome is gradually wearing off the metal ball, showing copper underneath, and I don't mind that.

I love my bracelet, but I have to agree with everyone else that it smelled a bit off for a bit, but it went away for me. I was also disappointed by the quality of leather. It looks so perfect in the picture, but my bracelet definitely had some imperfections. I used some leather conditioner on it, and it helped a little, but it's still not as pretty as the picture shown.

Adding to the other comments - got my bracelet and it looks beautiful but the smell is horrendous to the point of unwearable without causing a migraine. The slit for the fastening isn't correctly sized so this is nigh on impossible to put on or take off yourself (if you can stand the chemically, burnt smell), you need an extra pair of hands. Very disappointed.

Hi I was so excited to receive my bracelet from this drop. It arrived last Thursday 20th April and I was thrilled putting it on straight away. I wore it for several hour that evening and removed it before going to bed. No rough treatment. The next day getting ready to go out I put it on and within 5 minute the clip had fallen out and bracelet was anable to be do up. Extremely angry !! I feel I wasted my money and it wasn't cheap $30 Australia dollars for a few hours of wear. Not happy jan! 😡😡😡
