Hello! I'm Jim, and these images represent about one-third of the home setup where I spend most of my time.
I work 90% from home as a Datacenter Engineer, and occasionally I'll open a game or dabble in electronic music. I have been into different aspects of this career and these hobbies for forty years, but only started taking the aesthetics for my workspace, my desk setup, and the decor in the rest of my home environment more seriously a couple years ago. I feel that a functional and comfortable workspace which I visually enjoy existing within has made measurable positive impacts in many other areas of my life.
Unfortunately there aren't any new products from Drop in my newest round of photos here, but I do have a few new DCX keycap sets, a few new desk mats from Drop, and maybe even a couple sets of stabs from Drop which are here waiting for a photo-op =) I will get to everything in time, but this is what I can share today...

I'm much more of a functionality guy, at the end of the day it should still look good, but it has to function well...

I bought the Gaea Artisan keycaps and I use it on my numpad to easily access my music controls. I thought I'd have it just for display but it's my favourite thing to use to control my music levels...

My grandpa was a truck driver for 40 years, and in that time he used two thermoses. I own them both, and the smaller of the two, which was clearly used on hundreds of runs, has a scratched and faded line of text below the label that reads “Thermal Efficiency guaranteed 5 years.” It might as well have said “105 years” because it works as well today as the day he bought it. That thermos is incredibly well designed, well made, and I assume it will work for another 50 years unless something drastic happens to it.
You’ll often hear people say “they don’t make things like they used to” and in my experience, that’s largely true. Products in the past were often made with longevity in mind, and to be honest, it was easier to build them so sturdy back then. Tools weren’t computerized, the parts weren’t as tiny, and the types of metal and plastic they were made from were costly and often machined with a human involved in the process.
I adore technology and surround my desktop space...
Just installed my space in the new house and I kept my essentials : custom coiled cable, wrist rest and beloved DCX Permafrost keycaps. Also had some space on the left and decided to showcase the...
I switch through themes when gaming or doing work to keep things fresh. Sometimes a shift in keyboards and deskmats is all that's needed for a theme change. Most of the time its a Japanese themed...
