The Aquacy Hei Matau timepiece is backed by rich materials and an even richer history. Called the Hei Matau in honor of the Maori people of New Zealand, it’s built for the rigors of fishermen and businessmen alike Read More
GratisSharkThe vendor doesn't like criticism or negative reviews/comments--he'd rather you learn about any issues discussed AFTER you buy the watch. Speaking of comments, watch this one become hidden in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6... ;- )
MarPablI agree: no cert, no dive. But this really isn't a serious dive watch. It's good enough for around town and the occasional dip in a swimming pool, but definitely not the watch a serious SCUBA or saturation diver would stake his/her life on.
Aside from the certification issue, I don't find any of the Aquacy dial designs very legible, and certainly no easier to read than more traditional divers (Seikos, for instance). I don't imagine that problem gets any better the deeper one dives.
Fortunately, I'm not a diver, but if I was, and my life truly depended on the watch I wore, I'd shell out for a Marinemaster 300M or 300 Tuna without hesitation. I like living!
" 1769.... in which (Cook) discovered New Zealand"
NZ was not 'discovered' by Capt Cook - the Maori had already been there for a couple of thousand years.
Merely highlighted a few lines from MDs lame marketing pitch--evidently I can't say what they say? Real problem is the vendor--just read the back and forth between him and @Wanton86. I guess MD will start hiding comments from everyone who bought one of these watches and felt they didn't live up the claims. Damn shame.

RayFYea that’s what I thought. I read that and I’ve seen and read some other complaints with photos of defective dials, one was missing a letter lol
This watch looks like great value and checks almost all the boxes I'm looking for in a diver. Too bad the logo and 1769 just kill it for me. Hopefully I'm a minority.
Evidently the moderator has no problem with the vendor blaming the MD members who purchased the watch for the issues they're concerned about, but does have a problem with me pointing it out?
"Literally the only complaints we have had have been from drop customers that read this review then decided to find issue with their dial after the fact and in some cases after owning it for months with no complaint. Prior to this review there were no problems."
Not a problem. I think we all know who the gamer was. No doubt you’re doing your best just to keep up. Hopefully we’re at a point where you can take a break now.
