With a bowed curve from the tip of the blade to the pommel of the handle, the Artisan Cutlery waistline mimics the curves of the human body. It’s not bad in the human hand, either. Sporting a comfy handle and a keen blade, the Waistline is easy to control in tight spaces. Adding to the unique design is the trailing point, like a samurai sword of old. D2 steel is used for the blade, which takes a good edge and has decent corrosion resistance—but you can upgrade to S35VN or M390 if you prefer. Treated with a stonewashed finish, the blade hides nicks and scratches well. Machined holes on both sides of the handle are a perfect fit for the pocket clip, which can be positioned for righties and lefties. At 9 inches overall, this is no small carry—but the slim profile and 4.1-ounce build isn’t too cumbersome.
