Since 1888, Atlantic has been producing the kind of timepieces that give Swiss watchmaking its reputation. The automatic Seaport is a perfect example Read More
I joined this drop and man am I looking forward to getting this one. A bit of a dice roll as I've never seen an Atlantic in person, but I really like the looks of this watch. If the quality is as good as I hope, this'll get a lot of wrist time when it arrives. #impatient
299.00 would be about right consedidering for the asking price you are delvin into Sarb 033 territory although the Sellita is a bonus at being a higher beat. Nice watch the Atlantic is for sure..
You've gotta be fucking kidding me; the only watch I've ever wanted to buy from MassDrop is back on sale and it's at an even less convenient time than the last run? Guess I'll be abstaining again and hoping for another drop...
With the ETA 2824-2 movement this watch would have represented an insane value proposition. Even with the Sellita movement, which is less costly, it is still a very good deal for a nice looking dress Swiss watch.
If I were in the market for a dress watch, this would be very tempting indeed.
DCullenVThe SW200-1 movement is, as far as I know, almost an exact clone of the ETA 2824-2. The cost is in part because the Swatch group is trying to limit production/availability of ETA ebauches moving forward.
DCullenVAnd from what I know - ETA used to farm out production of some of their movements to Sellita. There's probably one one or two pieces that are different between the two to avoid patent infringement.
