Easily one of the best headphones for gaming (better than DT990 imo)

Their strength is in the massive sound-stage along with very good separation, letting you pinpoint enemies location with ease. If you are looking for 'fun' sounding headphones then these are probably not for you, (although they do make RPGs feel more immersive with their great depth). Go with DT990 or 1990 if budget allows. Keep in mind you will need a basic AMP too

I have been waiting for either these or the 700s. I have spent way too much money recently though...

I have the itch too, i would pick these up if i didnt already have the ad700x. Those are my gaming set that i cable modded too work with the v-moda boom mic. Best fps gaming headset for games like css go and pubg. All other games, ive been using my massdrop tx0 that were modded into Argons. They are polar oposites of the ad700x except with the wide soundstage and imaging.

This is a pretty amazing buy at this price. I bought some A900s over a decade ago for $175. At the time I really loved them, but I've since acquired better headphones. Having had them as long as I have (still have them), there are some issues I wasn't a fan of (the plastic holding one cup broke after about 3 years, I had to replace the cushions a few times due to flaking, etc.). As far as starter headphones go, these are excellent. I've never owned their open back models, but even the closed version had an extremely wide soundstage. I've always liked the comfort of Audio Technica models more than any other maker. They make really great headphones, you could do a lot worse.

Very bloody good deal for this headphone. I would definitely buy one if i already didn't own one. Sound is fantastic. I have also the W5000 which I prefere with amazing sweet highs but I have to say not that far off and 10 times the price. For the money GEEZ this is a marvelous deal.

General buying tips for headphones- as I have a lot of headphones from different places, here is my take on how to save money on such purchases. Massdrop- good for collaborations- hd6xx hd6xx akg7xx koss esp95x, these are the best value because they mimic or improve on existing models for generally half or less of the MSRP. Then you also get things like special sales where massdrop pricing is lower than Amazon for example, but you have to wait. Sweetwater, zz sounds, crutchfield, headphones.com, audio46, hifi heaven, Amazon warehouse deals, adorama, thomann USA,: all these places to bstock, open box or used. Generally the open box or bstock carry the full warranty, while the used carry 6 month, however Amazon warehouse is just 30 day. I have saved 10-30% off doing this. Also the music type stores and headphones.com have credit offers often at zero percent for up to 48 months. The best deal I found was adorama through Amazon, the he560v2 (adorama exclusive) for $200, including balanced xlr cable, excellent plus condition. Hope this helps.

Have you ever used camelcamelcamel.com? It tracks the prices of everything sold by or through Amazon. You can get an email notification when the price of an item falls below a price that you set.

The 900 is like a feather on your head, if it was wireless you would forget it was on your head. The soundstage is wider than the sennheiser. Bass is more pronounced as verifonix says.
