I was sceptical first about this brand... but when I received the knife, I was very surprised... It is a large, strong, good looking knife! The blade shape is pretty useful but not as an EDC (too big for that), the handle is very confortable and the flipper is strong and firm (work everytime!)
For the price, the quality of this knife is astounding. I would probably prefer another type of steel but D2 is working perfectly well.
MrKardaI have the kendo and am digging bestech so far. nice contoured g10 w a thick d2 blade,. Nice bearing pivot action, skelotoned nested liners and i really like the handle. Clip had to be bent tighter but otherwise a very high value knife. Most are offered in a few handle colors and a couple blade finishes. Some smaller blades are sandvik steel. I showed the kendo to a knife buddy and he was pretty interested in it also and he mainly carries $100+ knives but i Am getting him interested in a few more budget knives lately. I like it the kendo enough that i gave them another shot by Joining the paladin and beluga drops. At Md prices bestech is very attractive and honestly idk if i would have bought one otherwise but im glad i did.
Just got my Paladin in the mail on Friday. I must say, I'm extremely glad I joined this drop.
This is the nicest feeling knife for the price that I have ever used. The closest comparisons as far as value are probably the Kizer Vanguard line and Steel Will Modus/Cutjack/Intrigue. This Bestech beats them all. It had a beautiful fall-shut action right out of the box, and the detent is superb. It is nearly impossible to overcome the detent without getting complete and authoritative deployment. The edge is wicked, and I am really glad they decided to go with such an aggressive grind on this one. The grind is super even, too. The symmetry is pleasing to my high standards. Also, the thinness behind the edge is fantastic. The handle finish, backspacer alignment, and fitment of the nested liners are perfect. The only possible negative I can find is that the pocket clip is aesthetically kind of "meh" (but perfectly functional).
The action on this thing rivals my Zero Tolerance, and the fit and finish rivals any knife out there. Without a doubt, this is $36 well-spent. In fact, I could imagine someone paying twice that much and being perfectly content.
A while back, I decided that I wouldn't give a knife under $100 a 5 star rating. Rating should mean something, right? This knife makes me want to change my mind. Here's the bad- 1) The liner lock is buried too deep and 2) I'm getting to where t don't like knives with a flat edge for my palm. But for less than $40.00? Damn! Happy! Happy! Happy! It was sharp OOB, well centered, very smooth opening, good lock up (Maybe 1/3) and solid. I might like this more than my Rat1. I'm not too sure about the SW Modus. I really like that one. However, the next time this is dropping, get one.....unless you don't like knives. A Dremel is all that is needed for fix #1.
Excellent knife as far as ergonomics, The blade is thin behind the edge and cuts beautifully. Centering is spot on. With additional lubrication the action is fantastic. It's a great pick for a low price.
For the price of this knife. It is a great budget offering.Allso the drop exclusive green is a camo colored green not the bright green in the pictures. More a olive green.Which is great.
The knife has a very crisp action and an excellent blade. The scales are much less textured than I expected and the knife has a much bigger presence than I expected. I'm a little worried it's going to open in my pocket so I keep it at home as a utility knife and it does a great job. A good value.
I really like this knife! the blade shape makes slicing a dream that extends the cut just a little further. The action was pretty tight but is loosening up. I may back the screw out just a tad to help it along. The only minor nit-pick I would give this knie is the handle material digs in a little to hard on the finger when flipping it open. Though not really an issue as just a little sandpaper resolved that issue quickly. I do like the full grip on this handle. Overall a great knife
Great knife. Larger size, but still fairly light. Fits my bear mits well. Construction seems to be well above expectations for a knife in this price range.
Like all Bestech knives; the Paladin is very well made. Sharp from the factory & well balanced. The handle is well shaped but feels a little light being mainly of plastic construction.
