Nothing compares to the sound of a true speaker system, but BLON’s BL-30 headphones come pretty close. That’s because they’re equipped with huge 70-millimeter drivers and an open-back metal mesh cavity—two key components that replicate the performance and sonic characteristics of a true loudspeaker Read More

The reviewer a Z-Reviews clone but puts a decent review out.
Also in-stock at linsoul.
I may consider them.
Okay, the choice of words does get on my nerves.
First of all, "Nothing compares to the sound of a true speaker system..." What's a true speaker system, and what's a false one? O_O
Secondly, "... two key components that replicate the performance and sonic characteristics of a true loudspeaker". We have that again- plus the fact that there are terrible-sounding large driver/open-backed metal mash xx headphones or loudspeakers or whatever they're talking about.
Thirdly, "To make them work in the context of headphones, BLON has outfitted the BL-30 with..." Excuse me? Are they not headphones after all? Yet they ought to be driven with a regular headphone amplifier?
Fourth, "The finished product delivers booming-yet-balanced low frequencies". I am embarrassed for them, and at a lost of words at this point.
Finally, "Rounding out the black and metallic design, the BL-30’s matching leather headband features an innovative adjustment system to accommodate all head shapes and sizes." I'm sure we have seen it before somewhere for quite the number of years though *sip*
Despite my misgivings, it does look like an interesting product. I sincerely hope they will not disappoint for the benefit of all invested parties
Just got mine from Linsoul after placing an order on Monday. I got the gold pair and its really a copper color but I absolutely love how it looks. Mine came with a case and the cable packaged with it was a nicer braided one.
Mine just came in from Linsoul. I have been listening to them for a few hours now and the sound is...interesting. The big downside is I have large head and the fit is not ideal. The yokes they used to attach the cups to the headband do now allow for the cups to angle upward, so the bottom of the cup dosnt touch under my ears. I spent a lot of time bending the headband metal to get it pretty close. Put on brainwave XL pads and that seemed to help with a better seal as well. I have some ZMF pads on the way to see it that will improve the fit a bit more.
It's amusing that they would name it as such, though ultimately it doesn't imply much. Bing's definition of "loudspeaker" here: "an apparatus that converts electrical impulses into sound, typically as part of a public address system"
Yup, that would be the MDR-Z1R. I have heard it myself, definitely not a tight and focused sound (if that's desired). However, they have a cheaper version in the past with 70mm drivers, the MA900*. It was probably their experimental model leading up to the Z1R :)
*Edited from "MA-900"
Update: Upon further searching, it seems a current Sony model, the Z7mk2, as well as the XB1000 have 70mm drivers too! All of them are from Sony though (apart from those huge Planar driver headphones)
phoenixsongI can’t make quality comparisons, but the MDR-MA900 and MDR-Z1R sound vastly different 😁
BLON seems to be trying to evoke their BL-03 IEM success into the form of a headphone. Even if it is a bit boomy, it will probably still have fans
Just ordered these, If you listening Drop do not ship FedEx SmartPost ,ship thru USPS,I only live 24 miles from Edison NJ warehouse,I don't want to wait a week to get them from SmartPost,Get back to me or I will cancel this order.
Not gonna lie, interested in getting these just to see what the 70mm driver can do. Used to have an MDR-Z7, but it was just meme levels of muddy bass.
Edit: Drop's misleading/inaccurate specs strike again: "Earpad and headband material: Leather" - Pictured: Velour/Microfiber earpads.
$100? Sure, I'm game. The 150Ω impedance means they'll be compatible with all of my tube amps, and the high sensitivity (likely because of dynamic driver size) means they should work fine with anemic sources. Plus, they're balanced capable, so even if they don't play nice with my tube amps, they'll play nice with my LCX.
I do not expect them to be good. But hey, come early January, I could be pleasantly surprised.
mattrisI'd buy the rose-gold / copper color if it was an option also. I can only seem to find these from overseas shippers but none will take paypal so I probably will just settle on these black drops.
Update:
Looks like Linsouls website updated and is now offering the gold ones as well. Yissss!
RVDIIICan't speak for the build quality of their cans, but their IEMs seem fine to me. I've got 5 pairs of their IEMs (and another on the way) and the worst part of their build from a reliability point of view is losing the buttons off the inline Mic on the original BL-01.
This headphone sounds awesome! I’d say at 100$ this is the best sounding headphone in the range. I like it better than some of my 200-300$ headphones. What Blon did in cheap IEMs their doing again in headphones.
Bassy, treble not harsh or sibilant at all, but clear. It has that big driver sound like the Arya. not as good of course. But I dont know what other dynamic headphone I could get that from besides expensive Sony headphones. The 70mm drivers are delivering that very well. Great separation. Great dynamics. Good detail for a headphone this cheap. Very pleasing balanced frequency response. This headphone just sounds great.
Blon also set this headphone with 150ohms impedance. So should work fine with OTL tube amps.
See full review here, and how to remove the pads:

antpagereally odd...mine did not have any tape on the pad bracket and there was actually a tiny o-ring being used between that bracket and the cup housing as a washer to allow for a little space to remove and replace pads.
