Designed with sound quality and comfort in mind, the Brainwavz B100 IEMs feature a single balanced-armature driver tuned to produce a well-rounded sound with clear vocals and controlled bass. One Head-Fi reviewer praises the “nimbleness, coherency, speech intelligibility, airiness, and punchy, kicking, and controlled upper bass, whose quantity is higher than with most single-BA in-ears, but not overpowering.” And for comfort during those long listening session, the over-the-ear design and small form factor ensure an ergonomic fit Read More

Help me out here, should I go with these or wait for the B150 to drop again? Which one do you guys/gals think has better value for money? Thanks a lot 👍
RavenisI am aware, but I saw several other reviews online that seem to suggest that the B150 is a step up from the B100 in terms of audio quality, so I wanted to seek out more opinions before I made a decision.
RavenisThe MEE V6 impedance is only 16 ohm so it's very easy for any phone to drive. These are rated at 50 ohm so you would probably need an amp to really open up the sound. If you have a phone like the LG V20 or G6 or the HTC 10 then you're good without an amp. The MEE V6 also has a mic and these do not.
These don't seem like they're doing very well right now and that's understandable. The amount of new IEMs that are flooding the market is pretty staggering. It's hard to know what's good and what's garbage. Well, if anyone has seen my posts over in the PL50 discussion, I've actually been using the B100 since January and it' been my new daily driver since then, replacing the fantastic PL50. It was a blind buy for $60, and originally started liking it because the stock tips isolate better than the Sony Hybrids I use on my PL50, but after some extended use, it was difficult to go back to the PL50. These IEMs are just superb! It's one of those rare moments in my headphone journey where I don't feel the need to buy anything else ever again because I'm pretty confident nothing will beat these for the price IMO. That being said, I've owned over 100 IEMs in the past, couple notable ones including: A83, FLC8S, SE535, W3, W4 IM02, DBA-02, PFE112, RE600, P1, e-Q5, 7550, BA200, GR07 and a massive amount of budget options under $100. And what did I end up with? B100.
Just noticed, SE215 that also dropped has 47 purchased and 589 comments as of now. These absolutely demolish the SE215.
Also, don't look into the B150. It's a sidegrade/downgrade to the B100 for more money? Come on Brainwavz...
ZorbzI've also tried a lot of iem, and these are one of my favorite single-BA iem for their well-rounded sound signature. They aren't boomy. They aren't bright. They're just right. Brainwavz did a great job running these. Ergonomics are really good, too.
I've also got the B200 and would highly recommend it if a drop occurs. B200 increases the extension on either end of the frequency range, providing increased dynamics and soundstage. Good stuff!
nizwizThank you for the link. I just ordered these IEMs directly from brainwavz's site.
Right now (month of May) B100 are one sale and I payed $66 CAD - only $2 more than the price here. And I do not have to wait till June for them to be shipped. Plus, you get a Krudul Duo - Earphone Management System for free (cost $14 according to the site). I also got a 5% discount coupon.
Worth checking if somebody else is also on the fence of bying these IEMs.
So these just arrived in the mail here (Belgium) within about a week after the original estimated shipping date, very nice! However, upon delivery I had to pay an extra 29eur (give or take). Has anyone else ever had to pay this kind of extra fee or whatever and is there a way to avoid it?
yillini guess the only way to avoid it is to either move to the US and deal with the hilarious elections or maybe have a friend in the US receive the package and send it over (if that even avoids VAT)
Does somebody know how woups these compare to Final Audio Heaven III? I really like how they sound, and would like to get IEMs with similar sound signature, but shape like these B100.
GreatsoulsHaven't heard FAD Heaven III but have heard a lot of FAD IEM, including higher-tier IEM in the Heaven series. They all had more emphasis on the upper miss and lower treble than I prefer. Made them too bright for me.
nmatheisThank you, nmatheis. For the price and after going through the comments I just decided to give them a try.

I've always liked Brainwavz' included accessories like the hard case, tips, clip (which I don't actually use) & even the little velcro cable tie, but I'm not a fan of the rubberized cable. The rubber combined with the springiness drives me crazy. Also, the few Brainwavz IEMs I own all seem to exhibit driver flex. I usually keep the accessories, but give the headphones to my brother for gym use since he seems to go through a set every 2-3 months. Prior to Brainwavz it was my old MEE headphones. In a way I'm slowly upgrading his gym headphones hehe, but he's not an audiophile; he can only hear the difference if he compares them to those crappy $5 headphones, although I did just give him a set of the VE Monks Plus, which he'll probably break within a month. I picked up a refurbished Delta triple pack from Brainwavz just for this purpose. Unfortunately, no accessories were included. :(
