I am a newb and have what is probably a pretty stupid question - looking to upgrade the music experience from my MacBook and am interested in this V1 Headphone amp. Do I need to get a DAC to connect to this as well?
You sound pretty presumptuous. I've not been singing praises about it - just providing helpful insight if he does want this AMP. Could be he doesn't have the money you'd gladly spend, though its so kind of you to suggest we spend it anyway. Maybe the value of a dollar has been lost on you or you never understood that concept at all.
So this may be a cheap mistake of an AMP to know if he likes it or not. Either way, you can be a prick, doesn't mean I don't understand the value that this AMP MAY bring to him at a cheap price so he can drive his headphones - something a pre-AMP may not be able to do.
WolframmeWrap a turd in a bow and it’s still a turd.
As for understanding money....I’m the one recommending stick to current setup instead of wasting money on an item that he will gain no benefit.
You are suggesting splashing $’s on this a tube amp while anyone with any idea know why reputable tube amps don’t sell for under $50.
Good luck!
I have one of these, I knew what I was buying (it just uses the tube as a passthrough to color the sound) but I was still disappointed. doesn't sound very good
I have a Sabaj DA3 and I'd like to use it with this as it has a DAC and it has an AMP that suits my Sennheiser 6XX's well. I need its DAC as my computer's is horrible, it sputters awful noises constantly. For the wise and knowledgeable, I have two questions:
1: Would it be alright to use what I have for now and hook up my Sabaj DA3 to the BRAVO AUDIO V1 or could issues arise?
2: Does anyone have any experience using this with the Sennheiser 6 series headphones and how was it?
That's true, it has improved the sound quality on everything I have tried it on, if you are comparing it to a setup that is thousands of dollars it wont compare but it is much better than the price indicates
I got one of these a few years ago, and while it did provide more power, it just picks up so much static. Does anyone know what I can do to get rid of this? I was in a cubicle.
randomshortguytry to place the tube amp away from other electronics sources and the phone. Even a few feet should vastly improve the static and background noise.
have we gotten any other update? My tracking number just says "pending/does not exist" since I got it 2 weeks ago.
edit 06/19/20: just arrived. I stopped checking and was surprised this morning!
Hey guys, i'm quite new in the tube world and i wanted to ask if the tube in the amp is a pre amplifier tube. And if someone can suggest another tube, mabye from the new old stok market. thank you so much guys!
agrigasYou might be right but that's not how the marketing seems on amazon. I got this from the v2 page "NO OP amp or IC in this circuit, which can introduce unexpected distortion to the sound." Whereas the v2 is marketed as a hybrid amp. I am unfamiliar with the terminology but that's the impression I got when I purchased it about 4 years ago
Dago75I've heard people praise Mullard E88CC/6922 tubes on a few forums, supposedly they have really nice bass, specifically ones from the Blackburn factory.
