With roots dating back to 1884, Breitling knows its way around a timepiece. Perhaps best known for the Navitimer watch, worn ubiquitously by pilots in the mid 20th century, they’ve carved out an impressive reputation over the years Read More
As someone who doesn't keep up with the watch community , can someone explain do alot of people seem to hate it? What makes a 'luxury' watch a good luxury watch ? I know price is out of the question so is it materials , looks ?
AzeendeenBreitling makes many over priced watches with very middle end movements and they are predatory about advertising in my opinion. This model and some others have the new B01 in house movement but before late 2018 they used ETA or Sellita chrono movements that are in watches that cost around 1-2k and breitling would charge 8-10k for their brand name when really they don’t have amazing brand equity. No doubt it’s made well but quite simply it’s overpriced for a brand that’s not been doing well. Also for breitling prices you can get into Rolex or omega or any other middle end watch brand. Finally, you take a massive hit on resale value with most breitling watches and if you buy this for 9k if you can even sell it you’ll lose 3-4k.
Not a bad looking watch but in my opinion no Breitling is worth 8k. I’d rather get a Rolex or an omega. Obviously the AD is desperate to get rid of these slow movers or else they wouldn’t list it with a warranty and everything like 8 times through drop. I wouldn’t recommend buying a Breitling as an investment but if you love the look and have the cash go ahead.
Breitling isn’t normally my cup of tea but I do love the look of the premier for Bentley I just looked it up! Now the only thing you have to do is buy a Bentley to match😂
To whomever the seller is, we’ve seen this piece pop up a number of times at the same price and it has yet to sell.
Having seen and handled this watch in the flesh, it’s actually a quality piece (assuming you like some bling). Breitling has at least a 50% margin and often up to 70% on some models(my ad spilled the beans on that tidbit)
Assuming the grey reseller purchased this at cost ( say 4500-6500 as a range), they’re trying to squeeze out at least $1500 in profit, and as shown by the previous failed drops that’s just not going to happen.
So to the seller, sorry Breitling screwed the pooch, but with this model (and the blue dial version) being all over chrono24 in the 6-8k range, you’re not going to get a sale unless you drop down to around $6500.
Wow, Breitling has fallen. Watches should be an investment. At least on this level.
Look at the Batman. You could get one for under $10k easily a few years ago. Now you’d be hard pressed to find a good one under $15k.
I like Drop, but I don’t think it’s a good place for exquisite time pieces. IMO TouchOfModern has better deals, and better pieces.
Yeah, but most watchmakers can work on that Caliber 321 the pros have. If you’re paying that 2500 I’d go with something that had an inhouse movement, like a Seiko.

Adam6360the new Seiko SRQ031 is on my list, but I’d still pick one a late 90’s/early 00s Speedmaster Triple Date for 2k or so.
Love my Chronomat 44, but don’t want or need gold anything. I’ve even seen these in Costco. About same price and out of my range. I’d be real concerned about warranty not buying from an AD.
