Made by hand in Britain, this leather dress belt hails from Rutland, the smallest county in England, where the family-owned British Belt Co. has been operating since 1946. The bridle leather itself—so named for its use in equestrian saddlery—comes from an even older British heritage business: J & E Sedgwick & Co LTD, a family-managed tannery that’s been supplying equestrian leather since 1900. Flexible yet durable, the leather is joined with fine stitching detail and a brass buckle with antique finish.
Note: At checkout, you have your choice of color between Black, Navy, and Hazel Tan. This drop is limited to 120 units.
This particular leather is 100% vegetable-pit tanned, a traditional English tanning process that takes several months to complete. After tanning, the leather is hand-dyed and hand-stuffed with a blend of fats and waxes, lending it a smooth feel and deep color. Because it was historically used for hard-use saddlery, bridle leather is renowned for its longevity.
The belt measurements are taken from the middle hole of the belt to where the leather meets the buckle.
For best results, measure a belt that fits well and buy that size. Most people buy belts approximately 2-3” longer than their tagged waist size.
