Stellar value at this price!
These are some of my favourite IEMs for critical listening, and the slightly bass-boosted sound signature has enough "soul" to it that they're also pretty great for casual listening. The upper treble peak could get a little fatiguing after a few hours, at least for me. The packaging and accessories are fantastic, as can be expected from Campfire Audio. I also think it's worth mentioning that the glow litz cable is much much better behaved than any other CA cable I've tried so far. Very soft, almost no memory, and still nice and lightweight. The glow accents are fun if you don't take yourself too seriously.
As others have said, I think I'd be hesitant to buy these at full MSRP. Despite the excellent build quality and good value when it comes to accessories, there are simply a ton of other options at that price point. However, the $379 I bought them at is an absolute steal, 10/10 recommend at that price!

Comfortable fit and sound
The name Holocene seems fitting. It presents the world of sound as we know it. I think we don’t stray far from neutral because it’s what we’re familiar with, and we find comfort it that. This is where Holocene sits in my collection. They’re like clothes or food that I never lose interest in. If I want a little drama, Campfire Dorados provide that. A little variety suits me.
The build quality is first-rate. I was interested in this particular design. The shape is comfortable. They’re the first IEMs with a fit that doesn’t remind me that I have things in my ears. Between the comfort and neutral sound, the product remains transparent. It seems counterintuitive to design a product that people forget they’re using, but this is what I like about the Holocene IEMs. They stay out of the way.

Kinda disappointment
I was kinda disappointed with these IEM. They sound… well, far from their price. I would say more, they sound really cheap. This is not a baby Andromeda, this is very simple IEM. Sound is narrow, sometimes even harsh. If one will listen to separate tones and describe highs, mids and lows separately - it looks not bad on paper. But real sound, music sound is awful. Messy and dirty. Plus, it is impossible to listen them on low volume - bass will completely disappear.
This kind of sound expected from 60 dollars chi-fi not from Campfire Audio. Too bad.

Great Neutral Sounding IEM's
They're great sounding IEM's. I used to own the 2019 Andromeda and these share some similarities. They're like a mini Andromeda, but only like 70% of the way. At this price, super happy with my purchase. At $649 MSRP, it's a tough sell.

I tried to like it
After purchasing the Dorado from CA, I was ready for my next CA purchase. I then saw the Holocene- it seemed to fill a hole where I needed an IEM for just Classical and Jazz. When I got them I tried them on, just as I did with the Dorado’s. It was horrible and immediate regret set in. I also noticed a static sound that was coming from the connector to the right monitor. I then disconnected and reattached it hoping that would cure that. I then decided to burn them in- maybe they need that. So for 8 days I let them play, (I actually forgot about them) and I proceeded to play my music. Not great still but way better. The upper midrange has a fatigue inducing bump but they sounded good with electronic, pop, and rock music sans the bass. I hope Drop will take them back- they’re definitely not worth $400. I’d rather buy the Vega’s for $300.
*Update- Liz from Drop customer service wrote me an email saying that Drop will not take back the headphones so now I’m stuck with $400 headphones. And this is the end of my Drop relationship- let me know if you would like to buy these.
