“If you don’t have the tool, make the tool” is the Carbon Tactics motto. The Epoch, the company’s latest in a long line of tactical belts, is designed from the ground up for strength in the field or at a big dinner Read More
Mike, I like a lot of the features in the belt & buckle, but it doesn’t look as secure as a cobra buckle (I have one of your cobra belts). Can you comment on the strength and security of the Epoch buckle under load? Have you strength tested it? Will it release under load? Can a tap on the lever while not under load accidentally release it?
You can trim the tail end of the strap with a sharp pair of scissors. Then just singe the end with a lighter to prevent fraying. With these being double-layer belts, it is important to order according to the sizing chart though. Let me know if you have any other questions :)
cornerstonetomI use the Epoch Double Layer belt with a concealed pistol, and it's freaking great for that. I would not use it with a holster that has a FOMI clip, as it might slip off during the draw stroke.
chaosmagnetThanks! All my holsters have those clips which is why I put the clip over the pant and the belt over the clip. That works really well. There are times when I carry OWB and that's why I was asking. But you definitely answered my question. Thanks again. Great moniker!
How's the snag factor on this belt? I build cars and need belts that don't snag easy on all the metal of a half built vehicle. How well would this belt work for me, because I love the style and design.
jgibbsI'm glad you like the design :) The buckle is very low-profile, so I don't think you would have any problems in that regard. Let me know if you have any other questions!
TwitchySquirrelI would like one too! Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be making these in Titanium anytime soon. Let me know if you have any other questions :)
