LateralusI found some from parts express for 1 dollar each... lol. It was a tent sale, but they were only regularly 20 usd anyways.
Thanks for the help... I bought 15 or so, if you are still looking for an upgrade.
BobthedespotSo if your powersupply blows up and takes X7 with it, who do you think is gonna cover it, huh? I don't think MD or Creative will agree to cover the equipment used with uncertified power products. Powersupply is the single most important part of any powered system, if you skimp on quality and go for lowest price, well, you get what you pay for.
AnzialYeah, man I totally agree. That's why I think it is ridiculous that they would even consider a switching power supply. The noise is audible with any sensitive ciem, and and the lag leaves transients behind under heavy loads. Which is of course why this current drop has a 140w psu, because an 100w wouldn't provide for 100w transient peaks... but then again, neither does an 140w.
If you are anal about audio, build yourself a battery buffered current source with cap arrays to provide line voltage swings. And don't even buy class D lol - only icepower has managed decent distortion specs, and this drop isn't exceptional in that direction either. Manger audio has a good model if you are curious though.
And if my x7 blows up.... hm. I wonder. I guess I would just throw it away. Or fix it. Or not give a crap. Still not sure. It is completely replaceable and hasn't been used for more than 5 minutes since it arrived.
Notice how I said buying a cheaper psu wouldn't be covered under warranty? so... you act like I didn't notice, and then assume I should care now that you enlightened me. lol
