The Lucas Burnley–designed CRKT Akari fixed blade looks like something you might encounter in a jungle. Thanks to its ergonomic shape and full-tang composition, it could certainly get you out of a jam in one, too. The blade measures nearly 3 inches, making it large enough for most jobs, yet small enough to easily take with. Wrapped in taut cord, the handle is rougher than it appears for a solid grip. Textured bright green bubbles peek through the cord like it's oozing sludge. The peculiar green color is an unusually becoming complement to the ti-nitride-etched blade. Made from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, the blade is easily sharpened and resistant to the elements. Store the Akari in the included sheath when not in use.

Always fascinated by the wilderness, stories of survival, and action movies, Lucas Burnley decided to make his passion a reality in 2003 when he founded Burnley Knives. With the bulk of his experience derived from trial and error, Burnley has earned a reputation as a reliable craftsman by combining elements of classic knives with an emphasis on modern materials. “To me knives are a personal expression of independence and self reliance,” he says. “Starting with raw materials, I’m able to create intrinsically useful and aesthetically pleasing tools and objects of pride that can be used and passed down for generations."
