I don't know much about HI-FI headphones. It's the closest thing to one I have owned but to me it sounded very warm and bass-y. I've heard reviewers say it had really bad sibilant sounds in that frequency range but I wouldn't know what's bad. Overall I was very happy for the price.
I'm not an audiophile, but this is my first set of headphones from Drop and I can say that these sound good for the price.
My headphones had a slight manufacturer defect where one side would no longer provide audio after a few months in 2021 that made them unusable (it happens) and they've been out of stock ever since, so I had to choose a different product to replace them. However, I enjoyed the crisp audio during console gaming while I had them.
I wear these pretty infrequently, like maybe a couple times a week at the most. I bought them for myself at the same time I purchased some more expensive wireless headphones by Sony from Costco for my brother. He wears his daily, while running, lifting weights, etc. They are still in perfect condition. On these cheaper headphones, the ear cushion outer surface began peeling off, the cushions themselves are coming unglued. As other reviews mention these pads are not the best. Also, there is a perpetual whistle that comes from the metal head strap. As I walk around with them on, you can hear the wind whistle over the head strap, it's so weird. Anyway, these aren't in stock anymore but if they came back and you were considering them, I'd say look at another pair/brand.
The sound quality has been great with these headphones, have held up well for a few years and they are the most comfortable headphones I've ever tried.
Love them, they definitely have a unique sound signature compared to my Sennheisers. I think these are a little more bass heavy, where the Sennheiser 6XX are more balanced and have a more pronounced midrange. I like these a lot for electronic music and similar.
