I picked these up second hand today and tested them while picking them up from the seller. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary so I made the deal and brought them home, while listening to them at home, I heard a rattle from the left earcup at certain frequencies. I don't think the driver has blown, but I don't know where the sound comes from. It seems to completely disappear when I press on the grill of the left earcup, but this is only a crutch. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?
Krypton36Yea, Im actually new as well haha. I have the schiit stack and I really like it. However, If you are willing to do more research, I have heard that there are better dacs and amps at around the same price point now.
guys ive been having stuttering sound issues and ive only had them for around three months, i love these headphones until the stuttering started, is this a known issue and is it solvable?
i think it could be an issue with the wires, connecting to the headset, i dont have new wires but when the wires are moved a little the issue is fixed temporarily, i also vaguely remember reading a comment about how this set has subpar wires that should be replaced upon purchase but i cant seem to find the post.
hugeknightContact drop customer service. I have heard it can be really hit or miss with them, but when I contacted them regarding problems with my HD 58x they were very ready to help. I ended up not needing a new set though because it was just a hair touching the driver ;P
As someone who really knows nothing about headphones I have a question. Would these be fine without a DAC or is there value in getting a DAC along with these? If so can anyone reccomend a dac for these under $300?
H4ckeyA dac is dependent on your source and it’s processing not the headphones. As for someone here recommending you buy an Apple adapter in regards to your initial query...well thats pretty much whats wrong with asking advice on the interwebs.
For someone who is disappointed with Sennheiser, even the HD-650 (a little too veiled in the treble and not nearly enough bass) How does this fare in comparison? The price is certainly a lot nicer. What about the sound in the areas that I mentioned? I listen to literally every genre except for classical. 60% of my listening is probably electronic dance music.
