#/5 These are great t-shirts! I got the navy and grey ones, and there is no issue with them being see through. They definitly feel substantial without being too heavy. Fabric is crisp, not drapey and feels like it will get better after many washes. Sleeve length is perfect, it hits right in the middle of the bicep and has enough length to roll up without looking ridiculous. Neck line is comfortable and won't choke you out like other premium t-shirts I've purchased. Great job Drop! The adjustments were well thought out. A great deal for US made tubular t-shirt.
I've been wearing these shirts for a couple of days now; so far so good. I really like the fabric; it feels supple yet durable at the same time. I went with the medium size, and I am at the upper end of medium. Most of the time medium fits, but sometimes I have to go with a large. These Tees have just the right amount of stretch for both sizes to work for me. As mediums they are perfect to wear under a sport jacket. As top layer/on-their-own, I'd be more comfortable wearing a large, however. Curious to see how they stand up to wear and tear. Update: After wearing these on and off for a about a week now I can say they are definitely worth it. I am mostly T-shirt averse, and prefer button-up shirts. Main reason being: off-the-shelf T-shirts look and feel like underwear to me. Not these Tees, though. The few T shirts that I have are THs and I wear them mostly when it's a good day for a sport jacket. The Velva Sheens are better than the THs in every way. The fabric is much more substantial and they keep their shape. The Drop VSs do not run as small as their reputation would have it. I'd go true if you are not in between sizes or often find yourself sizing-down. If you often find yourself sizing-up, definitely do so with the Velva Sheens.

This is a really nice shirt.
I'd always been warned off Velva Sheen because I've been told they are sized small. That's really not the case, at least not with the Drop version. I'm an XL across just about all brands and the XL in this drop fits to, um, a "t". It's neither slim fit nor boxy and they don't bunch in the arm pits. Favorite part: They're long enough to tuck in, something many t-shirts--even undershirts--strangely don't do well. Least favorite feature: Not sure yet how this will pan out over time, but the neck opening is maybe a bit more snug than I'm used to. This is more of an "initial impressions". I'll try to remember to update it once I've had a chance to wear the shirts for a while.

I don't think they are worth the price.
Compared to other tshirts these do run small, especially in the chest. Plus the fabric has no stretch. I would size up but then the hem will probably be too long to wear untucked. The white is isn't the paper white you find in most other white clothing. There's a little bit of cream/yellow, I guess they're going for "natural". Not an issue but I do feel the photos do not represent the actual color. Lastly the material is fine but I don't think it comes close to justifying the $32.50 price tag. I'd personally rate them no better than $15.

runs small, too small
Sized up to a XL, after a wash & dry too snug to wear comfortably. Chest extremely tight.

Not sure they shrunk, sorry for the confusion. I didn't try them on prior to washing. My chest measured under my arms is 45". An XL in most tees fits me fine, these were way too tight for comfort. The good news is that my son says they fit perfectly (He's usually a M, and while they have a little extra room, they fit just the way he likes them).
mcloseA lot went into them - happy they are serving someone well! Hope we can get you (comfortably and happily) into some of our upcoming launches.

Ruined the perfect shirt
All the elements that make a Velva Sheen shirt special was removed from this product. The sleeves are too long and flare out. The bottom hem is slightly longer and not mentioned anywhere on the product page while the original length was perfect. The original material is hefty, thick and crunchy which allows the t shirt to age beautifully. This Drop version is sheer and thin.

Interesting you said that the knit is similar because it felt quite different. Is the new fabric stretchier? That could be what is giving the perception of "sheer and thin".
jcdropIt's exactly the same as far as base fiber, yarn spinning and finished yarn width. The knitting is different and honestly we are starting to get in a little deep for me, but I feel what you are saying is true - the knit is a bit more dense, BUT at the same time, the knitting structure makes the fabric have a bit more stretch and spring.

Prefer the standard Velva Sheen shirts
For me, none of the tweaks were preferable to the standard cut. Sleeves are awkwardly long.

Not for me
The cut doesn't work for me. I wear L and sometimes XL in other brands. Ordered XL and it feels more like a tight L. The cut in the armpits is too high and tight; creates a pinch and folds of tees - unsightly look. Material itself is nothing to write home about. I have other jersey cottons and some unknown cottons from cheaper tees that is softer than this. Not even comparing it to bamboo or other soft cotton blend in the market. Just comparing with other 100% cottons. Factor in the price? It's not crazy expensive nor cheap. I don't expect perfection by any means. But for $20-$40 tees, I'd stick with my carhartt's force cotton (cheaper) or forty-five (same price) or onno's bamboo tees (a bit more expensive). I know tees is subjective depending on our body types. Glad to see so many positive reviews and works for most of us. Just not for me. note: I'm 5'10" 185 lbs 42 chest.

6 Stars, hell, 10 stars. I have been in contact with Drop over these Tshirts, I am so happy with these! I hope they eventually become available again! Fabric is amazing and the cut is perfect for me.
