Hello quick question, I've had my pandas for a while now but had to send the first pair in for a replacement. I'm now running into the same issue which is the ear portion(where it rotates and connects to the head strap), it seems to start coming lose or gets bent from use over time. Have any of you run into this?
Not that this will come as a shock to anyone, but Drop refuses to offer support of any kind for these headphones. I would advise anyone that is even remotely considering acquiring these in future to run far far away. My headphones died completely after 3 years - mind you, these are not durable in any way - they lasted so long only because I used them quite sparingly. I charged them up the other day, and they just stopped turning on.
I messaged Drop, and their response was essentially, "That sucks, but we aren't going to help you - we won't even help troubleshoot - and we refuse to offer replacements of any parts, at any cost. Good luck!"
In the end I guess it's my fault for thinking these grifters would stand by one of their products for once. Do not buy any of their self-branded items expecting them to have any semblance of longevity.
Ironically (or not, actually), even the survey they send after closing your (unresolved) ticket is broken.
j_peaceI contacted them a couple of years ago as the head strap portion broke on the Panda, and I offered to pay costs from my side, but they point blank refused to help at all. It's such a shame because the low end on these headphones were the best I'd ever heard on wireless devices. Actually even better than on my Audeze LCDX, yet they've lost a customer for life just because of their horrible attitude towards their customers. I came on this site for the first time in a long while just to see if there were others that had similar experiences to me with support, and I'm seeing tons of you guys. Such a shame.
So my left earcup stopped working over Bluetooth. Tried resetting and also tried to update firmware but as I updated firmware they stopped responding and now don't charge and don't turn on at all. Still works wired but would like to get it working over bluetooth again. any help would be greatly appreciated
My second pair just broke. No longer will connect with Bluetooth and Windows complaining that the USB device is corrupted. When they work, they're the best wireless headphones out there. It's just unfortunate how much of a crapshoot support is on software and the hardware.
so my panda's died a while ago, bluetooth started dipping in and out constantly, headband was cracking and got too loose so i put them down and gave up.
recently though i started enjoying some wireless headphones again and started to miss the panda's...
I want to attempt to fix my pair and maybe even improve them but it looks like it might be tricky and will probably need the support of Drop..
Just started looking into the bluetooth chipset which seems to be a Qualcomm QCC5124, it might be possible to replace that with a new QCC5181 chipset (same pinout, power requirements, etc) but I'll need to have the headphones firmware reprogrammed to work with it...
I know its a long shot but has anyone attempted this and willing to share?
or is it too hard basket without having the source code for the firmware?
Drop? wanna make a custom firmware for this experiment? ;)
Bluetooth on the left ear is dead now. Really disheartening after all the work I've put in designing and 3D printing braces for both broken hinges to keep them running. Still works when plugged in, but this really sucks. Tried resetting and tried another bluetooth device, but no change.
i know im late but i just got my pair and they dont work! they are fully charged and everything and ever time i press the power button the white light goes on and goes away no audio queue no nothing i have reset then more then 10 times and still nothing what do i do?
JakeMerrimanThis use to happen to me frequently when I charged the Pandas overnight! I think it has something to do with overcharging the device. After letting the battery drain and charging for only about 10 - 15 mins, it's working again. I also reverted the firmware back to ensure connectivity remains consistent and sure enough it worked.
anyone know if there might be setting to make the sleep timer on the headsets longer?
Been in TEAMS meetings and the headset just timesout and disconnects from the PC.
Only work around I found was to turn on spoitfy and lower the volume on it while in the meeting, but wanting a better fix.
Who do I contact to start an RMA return?
My pair have been fine but suddenly the left ear cup stopped working and only emmits a loud hiss while the right ear cup plays normally
