OneLovesome of them are time that you can vacuum. I think the v6 is (quoted time from dyson) 30 mins, V7/8 45 mins? (not on max suction) Also i think i saw somewhere that the motors were slightly different in each of the models.
I WENT SHARK 2 YEARS AGO AND HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK!
Dyson batteries go crap too easily, these things aren't as powerful as Shark at picking up dirt and animal hair, the attachments are not interchangeable between Dysons, the collection container is too small and kind of fiddly.
When you have to buy new batteries, and filters they tend to be very expensive. I know this because I had used Dyson almost exclusively for years.
Shark cordless is DA BOM.
It picks up better, I seem to be able to get more collection before needing to empty it, and I can get filters dirt cheap on Amazon. It doesn't need an external battery and the charge lasts a pretty long time.
Trust me on this, I'm an AKC Breeder of Merit of Smooth Fox Terriers and have no less than 4 dogs in my household,(not living in some kennel out back!), at any given time and shedding is just a life-style.
My dogs even love it.
msteinebachThe thing is, if you want to buy it, you are welcome. I'm just letting potential buyers know there are other options. They can weigh the advantages or disadvantages of a refurbished item. I must say, almost all of my Dyson products are refurbished and they have been working for years.
OneLoveI've never had so much fun using a vacuum in my life. This thing sucks, so good! 😭 It picks up dust and dirt like no other handheld. I got the wall mount (charges while hanging) and extra nozzle attachments from Amazon. It has now replaced my favorite car and kitchen handheld vacs. Also, love jet engine sound the motor makes when you release the trigger. Only downside is that the trigger is very sensitive. It activates accidentally sometimes when I pick up the vacuum. (induces tiny heart attack on occasion)
OneLoveOMG - grab that one (above). I have the "big brother" (corded) version. Can't remember where I found it... don't think it was WalMart, because all I could find was the "baby brother" (above) and I didn't know if it would have enough power to vacuum Exotic Shorthair hair that you can easily find all over my house. The big version is FANTASTIC. This is making me want to go back to WalMart and get the DC59 (above) because I love the big brother.
I must say, though.. the Shark Rocket.. I have it, too.. and it has its really good points... sorry Dyson... I used to be a Dyson fan until I hurt my back in a MAJOR way and couldn't get my big heavy duty Dyson to push on the carpet... Got the Shark Rocket (QVC when they had extra parts as part of the deal). The Shark Rock *IS* a Rocket... it's like it's on steroids... with a REALLY sore back and hips, and couldn't lift or push anything, this Rocket got me vacuuming the carpet (and hard wood floors) again. I could NOT use any of the (many) Dysons... too heavy, too hard to push on carpet... The Shark Rocket is like, "HOLD ME BACK!! HERE I COME!" The little thing was PULLING me around the house, when I couldn't vacuum with any other way.
Now I have found a comb that helps comb out dead hair out of my shorthaired cat... with me combing him on the bed (white quilt). I have PILES of dark hair that forms mountains when I am finished combing him. I comb him really good every 2 to 3 weeks. I get literally mountains of hair out of him. When I am done... I get out my SHARK ROCKET and turn it into the little hand held.. and that baby grabs all the dark (brown and white tabby) hair. You should have seen my first panic, the first time I combed him, and realized I then had this huge mountain of dark hair on a while quilt... maybe NOT one of my finest moments, combing a mostly dark cat, on a white quilt... tried quite a few vacuums that I have here at the house, but the SHARK ROCKET can EASILY pick up a pile of SHORT cat hair on a while quilt.
Now I have a house of Shark vacuums around the house, but do NOT have the DC59 (yet). That will be my next vacuum purchase. (MD, can you get a drop for the DC59?) PLEASE?
Just a bit of information that I gleaned from experience which might be helpful to anyone considering a V6: this is a fairly loud vacuum cleaner.
I had two of these, and both were loud.
Of specific concern to me was a high pitched squeal in the sound which I was afraid might damage my high frequency hearing after numerous 10-15 minute stints of vacuuming over time.
I had purchased them directly from Dyson, so I returned both of them.
I ended up getting a V7 and a V8 to replace them. Both of these are so much quieter.
I can, in fact, vacuum while my toddler is running around next to me, and it doesn’t bother him at all (he was spooked by the loudness of the V6).
Plus the V7 and V8 are quiet enough that I don’t worry about any negative impacts to my hearing or to anyone else’s nearby with normal use.
Now, not everyone will be as bothered by the sound level of the V6 as I am. But just a heads up so you won’t be disappointed if loudness is a concern to you.
