I’m a pretty big supporter of Echobox as I helped crowdfund their initial Finders. However, what’s with describing absolutely no technical specs on these? I’m sorry, but that’s approaching Beats/Bose level smoke & mirrors bullish!t.
Thanks but I trust dedicated audio reviewers more than mainstream reviewers as I find that most if not all mainstream tech reviewers can't accurately describe sound due to their lack of accurate terminology when it comes to describing sound.
B9Scrambler (The Contraptionist) has written a review of the N1 in case anybody wants to read a proper review

Sebastian1989Thanks for dropping a link. AudioFool also wrote some good coverage of them if you want another non-mainstream alternative: https://audiofool.reviews/2018/10/08/echobox_nomad_n1a/
His review is of my sample so you get two takes on the exact same iem, and his scoring system (something I refuse to add to my site) is particularly stringent which I know some of you will appreciate.
I saw the website was still working as well so I emailed them asking if they were out of business and received this reply. Read into it what you want but to me it sounds like the company we know is no longer making products.
"That's not exact. Actually Echobox Audio, LLC is dissolved but Echobox is still in business as the trademark is acquired by another company."
mtnhSounds like the LLC was purchased by another company, and rather than being turned into a subsidiary (in other words, kept as a separate entity, it was merged directly into the parent, and the trademark exists just to sell the products under that brand name. Just a guess.
Is Echobox out of business now? Their website (echoboxaudio.com) was working fine a few days ago, and now only comes up as a 'parked' domain.
Just received my Nomads yesterday and wanted to see if I could buy a 2nd cable to ship out for shortening and re-termination (that way I'd still have the original cable if the custom job goes south).
So the Echobox Nomads are on backorder and my order was cancelled.
I have been waiting for a long time for these and was really hoping to finally listen to them.
This is most disappointing.
omegaohmI hope not, they make quality iems that have a lot of potential.
It's not that great out of the box but the PEEK tech used in their iems can be tuned to perform at a very high level.
I've had a lot of fun tweaking the Echobox finders which was a great buy at 50 bucks.
Just an FYI about the tuning filters, the included manual states "The Nomad comes with three filters: black, silver, and red. The silver filter, which comes installed on the earphones, offers a warmer sound, with more bass and less emphasis on treble, while the black filter creates a more balanced signature, and the red filter is the brightest of the three."
I'm pretty sure this is incorrect. The silver filter was indeed installed out-of-the-box, but was harsh af and severely lacking in bass imo. According to all of the other reviews of the Nomad N1 I've found, the black filter is bass and the silver filter is balanced (and red is still treble). After switching to black, the upper range harshness decreased significantly and the bass and midrange improved (vocals probably improved the most). Sub-bass (<70Hz) still seems lacking somewhat for an IEM of this size and the upper frequencies (~3-5kHz) still seem slightly harsh, but the improvement over the pre-installed silver filter is quite remarkable.
Anyone else have the same results with the filters?
I have the x1 and traveler , x1 still perfect , but the traveler seathing came of after the y split. They still work. I also ordered another pair of the from drop as well as the nomad which I do not have.
I entered the Finder drop twice because they were so good for the drop price. They need burn in but very excellent iems. I'm probably going to enter this drop as a step up...I have no concern about build, SQ or other issues. My only debate is whether I really need to upgrade since the Finders are so excellent and have a brighter treble which I like!
No need to worry about Echobox the company, in my experience.
Happy New Year to All!
So I was considering buying these today, but after the most recent review I’m in doubt. Can someone confirm that the overall quality of Echobox stuff has dropped since they were seemingly purchased (liquified?)
