This cable really needs long burn in process. When I got this cable, I was disappointed because the sound was not as good as the stock cable of my Faudio Minor earphone. High part of treble was gone and bass was not smooth. But I heard that earphone cables needed to be broken-in. So I left my earphone turned on overnight at least for 5 days. After the break-in, the sound was completely different. The high part of treble opened up and bass was powerful and dynamic. It was like something blocking the sound pathway has melted down during burn-in process. Now this cable delivers much fuller and more dynamic sound as if the frequency range has been widened both to lower and to higher range, compared to the stock cable. This cable is a very good value for the money as long as you properly burn-in.
Matched with Zeus that i bought from the drop. It is worth the money, if you are not planning to spend thousands of dollars on the cables. it gives more bass and better separation.
I've been a fan of ares ii and I really enjoy the looking of this black version. Hope to see more legit EA cables (not the EA Origin) in black theme.
Soundwise this produces extra energy in bass without sacrificing mids and highs. I ended up with pairing it to my Tia Trio (Apex m20 version) to get a even more V-shape sound. Not neutral or "correct" at all, but this is an enjoyable combination in my collection.
I thought that the copper wire would only emphasize the bass, but I think it is a well-balanced cable with higher resolution for the treble and midrange.
I bought two MMCX type cables and used with the Weston W60 and Fender FXA9. My DAC is SONY NW-WM1A with a 4.4mm plug. By using this cable, the sound became clearer and wider than the standard earphone cable. I checked of bass sound very carefully, and thought this cable was the best copper cable.
rofflemywaffleApparently, Sony's IER line-up (Z1R, M7, M9) uses a different connector than their XBA line-up. Not sure whose fault this is (Drop/Sony) for not clarifying this, but it's definitely a big yikes.
i received $25 credits from the delayed shipment of panda and hence got this below $100. effect audio's cable is usually quite solidly built. at this price, i think it is ok in terms of value for the money - especially when the cable is made in Singapore. the 2pin cm connectors were protected by nice protectors in the box which is a nice touch.
i must stressed that i'm not a cable believer - i don't think any decent cable will have much impact to the sound. just that i wish to use the 4.4mm balance out for more power for the less efficient IEM so i made this purchase.
