Did a research and found out this brand has massive QC issues and used 0.80 pins that destroys your IEM female sockets. Look under their previous drop comments. Was almost duped. MD should be more careful in picking sellers!

michaela12yeah the quality of MD vendors has gone down a lot recently with errand sellers like these

michaela12I did find my IEM sockets to be loose after using their cables. It was really tight and difficult to plug in when i first purchased it.

Hope all goes well for you too. Thanks so much for the reply. My setup is a schiit eitr into smsl su-8v2 into thx789 using mogami gold rca and mogami gold studio xlr cables to connect throughout. Currently my most expensive headphone is the hifiman ananda. Im waiting for a dual ak4499 dac chip to come out(most likely whatever succeeds the topping d90) then the setup will be up to par to get a silver dragon cable. Im planning to get a totl headphone(still deciding which one) as a treat for myself when Im back out in the world saving lives again haha. Ill get the silver dragon for whichever I pick up. Truly appreciate the reply and hope thing keep moving up and getting better for you too. Thanks so much :-)

Thanks, bud. Life is what we make of it, eh? ;-) I can unreservedly recommend the FOCAL Clear. Its my end-game headphone, as I won't be able to afford the Utopia. I wrote a review of the Clear, if you're interested: https://drop.com/talk/43807/focal-clear-review-part-1 The Ananda is a very nice hp. I like the slam you get with planar sets. The HE-4XX sounds great. Can't go wrong with the THX and the SMSL gear. I was ok with my little Schiit stack until I got the Clear. Then I just had to see/hear what balanced sounded like. Now to me, that was like the difference between night and day. I've stopped spending for a while, after getting the Clear, the Jotunheim and the Modius. My next get will be tubes! Balanced audio is the shizz-nit, as the kids say ;-) I listed my stuff on my homepage. Now get out there and get back to saving lives, my friend. Props for helping people.

That's a hard pass for me at 120 bucks. The confusion regarding which connector type fits which iems, among other things bothers me. What is a flat 2-pin? Limited selection of iem brands, too. I have more than a dozen iems and the only cable that might fit two of them is their 2-pin cable, but I have no idea if they require 'flat' or not, and we must assume its 0.78mm. Also, why no common type MMCX? I guess I need to buy the iems supported here or look elsewhere. Periapt has good cables at good prices and you don't have to wait months for an item that's in stock. Just sayin' ;-)

Keep whining baby boy, go back to Timmy hortons and ask for triple frappe Abbo with the whipped cream because if you pay 8 dollars for coffee that costs 70 cents to make it will taste better

This again? I got mine refunded from the local dealer. Atrocious build quality and mediocre sound. It appears they have recently done a recall on their cables for using faulty pins and parts.

LinueaGQuite right there, effect build quality is ridiculous and charging for insane prices. Sound doesn't goes too far from stock cable.

LinueaGI unfortunately couldn't get a refund from them but i sold it off at a loss. The stock cable that comes with 64audio is much better than this crap

Sorry but this is just a ridiculous drop. Originally priced at 149 bucks with premium looking plugs. This is 20 bucks off but with finicky looking toy parts and components. So where's the 'Drop'? Effect has gone down the drains in quality and offerings these days anyway. Might as well get DIY cables

Really? Come on. This is a way more than a little bit ridiculous. "...proprietary multi-stranded design that utilizes dedicated strand sizes for different frequencies..."

zombywoofI've heard a lot of audio snake oil bs before, but this one basically takes the cake. You mean, they carry analog signals?!? Such brilliant proprietary technology. Let me withdraw my life savings to purchase this bleeding edge product. Never once have mankind been able to accomplish such a monumental feat before.

I had been a believer of cable and has tried Effect Audio products among others on multiple occasions. Between Beataudio, Labkable and Effect audio, EA has the worst build quality and most unworthy price:value ratio. Effect is basically a sham show

I owned an effect audio ares II cable before. Atrocious build quality - the IEM-side connector basically severed itself from the cable because too little glue was used - and this occurred barely 3 months in. Customer service was beyond belief. They basically told me that it was my fault right off the bat and wanted to charge for repair. I didn't bother because by then the insulation had stiffened so badly that it was impossible to smooth out. I would not recommend it. The sound wasn't anything exceptional - mild improvement to my W60s and that was it. I had better luck with my Audio-Genetic Venus, a silver cable, which has lasted me more than a year and STILL hasn't stiffened all that much. A bit, but certainly not to an appalling degree like the Ares. Save your money and spring for better value cables - if you want to (I believe cables make some difference but I'd upgrade other things like source/headphones first). Certainly, I wouldn't recommend Effect Audio to anyone.

freakhistorianSimilar experience x 3 ; one of connectors of my MMCX cable completely came off while I removed the cable from the IEMs. The repair fee and shipping the proposed were as much as a new cable. Why bother getting the cable fixed!?!?
