I just like this knife. I've got more expensive knives but just go back to carrying this one again and again. It's made me explore more knives from Esee.
Feels great in the hand, really useful blade shape, love the light tan colour. My only gripe would be the weight. I'd love to see the liners skeletonised, but for this price it's fair that they're not.
My only complaint is that the flipping action is a little stiff until you work it a bit, but once you do it can easily be flipped open with one hand.
It's thin, light, and the frame isn't needlessly wide or long for the blade. It's very concealable, comes surprisingly sharp, and for the price, amazingly not made out of Chinese 'steel'
Also the knife is made in Taiwan.
Don't usually leave negative comments, but this knife is not up to Drop standards. The flipping action cannot be done with one hand. In fact, with two hands it takes some work. I loosened the pivot to help the action and the blade moved off center. The lock up is hard to release and the release mechanism is sharp causing not small amount of discomfort. Not happy at all.
Coming from the full-size RAT I was very interested in this little cousin. Should admit that for this size I very much prefer the design of Zancudo than RAT-2. Very neat, a pleasure to carry and to hold in hand. Good blade with useful all-rounder shape. D2 cuts well right from the box. The whole construction breaths reliability. Quality is above the average for this tier.
Very pleasant impression overall.
What I (personally) didn't like:
the nylon scale (I'd prefer colored G10).
the liner lock is not easy to disengage with one hand (it's flush with the scale).
I'd prefer tip-up clip position right from the factory (just to save my time and locktite).
