Spyderco’s line of Para Military knives has been hailed for its ergonomic shape and utility. However, due to their stature, they’ve also been deemed too large for some Read More
whats the point of a limited edition if they dont tell you how limited it is? also if someone doesn't need the extra 5vn's and the fecal color G-10, the base model is only 100 bucks on amazon right now.
So. Para 3 in S35vn is $20 more than the standard S30v. Yet just a short time ago, when they switched the native 5 to S30V from S35VN it was somehow an "improvement"( CQI!) and there was no difference to the end user and the price remained the same.
So they must just be gouging folks who like brown g10.
Too small. At least, it is because the PM2 exists. This is a nice looking knife. It is my understanding that Spyderco determines the minimum selling price that a dealer can ask for their products. I have one of their Golden, CO knives and I like it very much. It is very well done. If you want a PM3, this is a good
Umm, i believe you mean Minimum Advertised Price.
Meaning you agree not to openly Advertise below a certain price, it doesn't stop you from ending up lower on the actual final sale.
That's why MD will sometimes offer a "discount" if you refuse the "free" pouch, or other sites will use coupon codes, it on some sites you have to "add to your cart to see discounted pricing"
Though, we seem to be seeing less of that here for a while now, just the same old average retail prices seen everywhere else on spyderco drops
Because this is unusual for MD, I thought I'd call it out.
When this drop was active, I checked BladeHQ and other sites and found that they were going to have this version of the Para 3, but not at the time. I signed up for BladeHQ's in-stock notification and joined the MD drop.
On 9/16, the drop ended. On 9/18, I received a shipping notification from MD. On 9/19, I received an in-stock notification from BladeHQ (same price as MD). And on 9/20, I received my Para 3 from MD.
I've gotten used to trading off shipping speed for a (sometimes) better price from MD vs. BladeHQ, etc. In this case, MD had an appropriate price and I received my knife sooner than if I'd waited to order from BladeHQ.
So, good job MD! :-)
