I found it hours later, trying to figure out how to charge the dang thing. Didn't see the micro USB port either! Was Googling for 10180 chargers, finally figured this out lol.

HouseIts a standard micro usb like most phones/electronics use. Nothing special...but yes, under the foam.
This is a pretty fantastic little light. Smaller than i had imagined, which is awesome. Plenty bright.

Actually I'm not so sure about the disposable quality - it is actually rather well designed and made - I have an eye for good design - and it works fine. I'm not quite sure how you can determine it is incomparable when you've not seen it in the flesh, though I did concede in my first post that it was not USB rechargable. But no matter, to each his or her own... I prefer Ghost Whisperers, and I confess, even Donkey Mom's Home has it's allure...

rmeurantThat fair. There is only so much one can pull from a single picture, but usually get what you pay for so we may be comparing apples and oranges. Sounds like your pleased and you feel like you got a good deal which is great. If it makes light and you like it, more power to you. I'll be sticking to the Ghost. I like the quality with a lifetime USA warranty and appreciate the "heft" of the SS body. Very solid feeling . Customer service gas been great. Cheers.

A very similar light, though not USB rechargable, sells for 100 yen in Japan (in the 100 yen shops) - about 10 cents. I have used one for six months or so - very expendable and bright. Someone somewhere is making a huge mark-up...

rmeurantNo way and no how. Post a pick of that grand 10 cent light you have. I would love to see it. I understand production in these type of products and if you think this product can be built for under $7.00 you are sadly mistaken.

rmeurantThe XPG-2 LED in this light costs more than 10 cents, let alone the stainless body. The lights you're talking about use little 5mm LEDs, have no additional circuitry, run on disposable button cells and are made of aluminium. This light has a CREE LED (much, much brighter), current regulated drive circuitry and a charging circuit, a rechargeable 10180 lithium battery (they sell for about $2) and a stainless steel body.
It's much, much brighter than those little lights you're talking about. There's nothing wrong with them, but they're a very different product.

This is a rebrand of existing lights on the market, like the Mecarmy Illuminex, Cooyoo Quantum, and the Jetbeam Mini-1.

LucentYeah, I think so. U can get any one of the brands u mentioned for cheaper. The 10180 battery light model seems to have the same specs inside in all of the 6 brands I checked out like MecArmy, JETBeam etc. They all put out 130 lumens on high for about 30 mins. There's a bit of choice when it comes to metal and, colour and markings though. I got the JETBeam simply because it's a brand I've known to be relatively ok but the MecArmy ones have so much choice{titanium, brass, aluminum, steel, colours) though and look good too.

SoldatThe Jetbeam version is good. On equal par I would say. I own all of them. The first one like this that I bought was the MecArmy. That was crap. I bought 2 and both quit working within a couple weeks and no true service in the US. So if you are getting one of the other options, stick with the Jetbeam.

First, Im staunchly USA MADE with my lights but am always somewhat open to new companies, especially if they are USA based or have something really sets them apart. I believe FACTOR does.... I just ordered from this company and currently have an XL1000 & Ghost inbound. While modes may be similar to the Ghost on other offerings there are many differences in different forms. The SS design is all original, it is one of their most popular selling lights and to the best of my knowledge I haven't seen a single reported issue. They QC 100% of their product stateside in their own facility, all functions are tested and every light extensively inspected before it goes out the door. They offer a "30 Day buy & try." If it's not for you, you can send it in for a store credit. They offer a LIFETIME WARRANTY on all their products.......again to the best of my knowledge this is a rare almost non existing guarantee for lights that aren't 100% USA. However the most impressive part thus far is their extensive knowledge of their product and willingness to answer all inquiries. I had a heap and not a single one was glossed over or not explained in detail. They know their stuff. The pre-purchase customer service, pricing, and interesting lights pushed my out of my norm and I placed an order. It comes tomorrow and Im really not expecting any disappointments. They are really trying to get the message out with crazy good CS & products......so far, ahead of actually receiving the light.... it's been pretty exceptional. I'll throw up the customary, absoluty unverifiable " I am not associated with this company blah blah blah." But hey....if they are hiring I'd take a job there. In closing to this obnoxiously long message..........The Ghost is $30 bucks, it's badass and backed up by what seems like a stellar company......why not jump in for 1 or 2?

My favorite keychain light is the ultratac k18. Similar price but double the max lumens. Good quality in stainless steel or brass too.

MrtunaI'm not sure I see the similarity. That is a 3 inch AAA light with no battery included and no USB support. This is less than 1.5 in USB rechargeable with rechargeable battery included. I guess because it's smallish it is being mentioned here?

LightGURUYes, it was mentioned because the Ultratac is a small SS keychain light in this price range with twice the lumen output. You are right, a usb cable does not plug in directly to the ultratac.

Way and How.
Cost: 100 yen + 8% tax = 108 yen = US$1.0811 at today's rate. (In last post, I was confusing Korean won in my estimation, as I normally think in those terms, so was out by a factor of 10).
Purchased Kanda, Tokyo, 100 Yen store, about six months ago.
Works like a charm, always in my pocket.

Can anyone recommend a place to buy batteries, preferably protected. (If they exist). Amazon has batteries; price varies from $5.38 to $17.64 (!).

Called Factor; second time I reached someone, who said that they will be carrying batteries, (echoing owner in a post in CandlePowerForum on 03/04) but not for a couple weeks yet (or more, is my guess).

swimjayIm all about capitalism. But those prices are a straight ripoff. If they want to sell them in multiples to equal out volume and order total fine. But $5.00 a cell is a joke. I'd tuff it out and wait on FACTOR. I bet they'll have a better price.
