Hi everyone, We understand how frustrating the situation with the Focal Elex replacement pads has been. We share in those frustrations and have been trying to come up with a satisfactory resolution for months.Our internal testing has confirmed that the latest batch of pads varies in weight from the "stock" pads by as much as 15%. Although we have reported these concerns to Focal, they have not offered us a substantive resolution at this time, and we're continuing to try to work with them on a solution. We're hoping that we'll agree to a good solution at some point in the future, but really don't want to continue keeping all of you in limbo. So we've gone ahead and refunded all orders (could take up to 48 hours for this to hit your account), in addition, we will be shipping out all of the earpads to all customers as they had ordered them. In other words, everyone will get to keep the pads that they ordered, for free. The shipping will be delayed for a week or two while we sort through each and every order to determine who is exactly missing what. Moving forward we'll look to bring these pads back to the market, but only after we've completely sorted out the quality and quantity issues with Focal and have a product that we and the community will be satisfied with.

Wanted to say thanks for looking out for the customer, and sorry it ended the way it did. I have ordered way too much stuff from you guys, and this is really the first time I ever ran into any problems, so thanks again, and hope it all ends up on the right side of things.

I'm so confused. So were the ones sent out in late July any good? They're clearly different than the ones I got a few months, when they were sent 1 at a time. These newer ones are memory foam, but with the 2 I got, the foam bounces back more quickly than on the other. So I don't even know if they used the same type of foam in the 2.

@JaleesaG Someone who has an elex coming in august here, does this mean the new batch of elex will have defective pads from the factory? Pad inconsistencies might explain the polarised reviews,relative to other headphones, of the elex.

Guys, it clearly says in the email from Drop that they are refunding our orders AND shipping out the pads we ordered. So, we are basically getting them for free.

Like others, just saw a notice for a refund for my 2 pairs of Elex pads from Drop on my credit card. Was expecting an email waiting in my inbox, but LOL nope. Seriously, why is customer service so hard? Honestly, I've enjoyed all the items I've purchased from (Mass)Drop. But this experience will have me seriously reconsidering any future "purchases" if all I'm really doing is giving Drop an interest free loan for a few months. Edit to add: So looks like Drop has now publicly announced what is going on with the refunds and this Drop order. Obviously I'm disappointed that Drop & Focal couldn't figure out a solution. Clearly Drop is blaming Focal for the quality issues and based on what they've said it's pretty damning- hard to imagine what Focal's argument is that explains the discrepancy but obviously we don't know. I'd argue it would of been nice to have gotten an update a few weeks ago something to the effect of "We haven't forgotten about this. We're continuing to discuss the situation with Focal and trying to work out a resolution which allows us to fulfill all the orders with pads which meet our customer expectations." I'll have to admit, I didn't expect to hear I'd be receiving any pads after seeing the refund hit my account. I suppose after all that has happened, that's more than I expected (assuming I actually get my two pairs of pads I ordered- I've never received any items from this drop). Assuming Drop actually has enough pads to ship out to everyone who signed up for this Drop it's a very nice gesture IMHO and a clear indication that they want to do right to their customers. EDIT 2: Just got confirmation that Drop has shipped "4x pads" which sounds like my order of two pairs.
