word. Id not heard of jwick until ^ but if theyre alpacas, then yes.
Guess I just grabbed the last of the yellows from creamery. Id been using the glorious pandas, cherry browns, and box jades on my moonlander. wanted to jump to linears for my alphas, at least, and the gateron clears I have are too light for me. I wanted these yellows but the yellow housing would clash with my setup :(

static.overdubClose to alpacas but not the same. Transparent material I find tends to sound higher pitch. But JWK switches in general have that sound profile.
You could also spring swap your clears. Get something from TX springs and go for like a 62g or something. That way while there open you could film them and lube them if you are interested.
But for a stock switch the Gateron Pro switches or Jwick are both great options. Gateron Pro line has White switches now so that would fit your setup more if you're trying to switch match.

Specs say milky is 5 pin; gold is 3 pin, but photos show them both as 5 pin. Would help to clarify what’s what.

These are good switches. Not "super smooth" per-se, their defining feature is a very stable-feeling key travel and a deeper sound. Smoothness-wise, they're about on-par with classic Yellows. I'd recommend these to anyone wanting a solid linear, unless you absolutely have to have ice-skate smoothness.

What is the point of gold-plated springs inside not transparent yellow housing while transparent housing has standard springs?

bobgr8Yes - and you'll probably want to keep it for storing the switches. They leak small amounts of lube from the air port in the center post - in that egg crate thing it's a non-issue, but in a bag, box, or jar, you'll end up with slimy switches. I learned the hard way.
