Product Description
A recreation of a classic airman’s watch from more than 60 years ago, this Massdrop-exclusive version of the Glycine Airman Vintage 1953 features everything you loved about the original, only now with a different set of hands. Because the hour hand only completes one sweeping revolution per day, the dial has Arabic numerals in intervals of two from 2 to 24 Read More

The AM on the dial is not all there, the M is partly obscured. Obviously that's why Glycine is getting rid of it.
If it never had this issue, and if the numbers inside the dial were 1-12, and if the price was $399, then I'd buy it.

MbotThis guy is a pathetic troll. He cannot afford any of the watches nor does he know anything about watches but comments anyway. Don't feed the troll.

If this is a 'Massdrop Exclusive', why do they show the list price as $3300? You can't buy it anywhere else and the price $650. They must think everybody registered on here is a bit thick!

I thought the Invicta Model was 95% off, or is that the Internet Invicta Model?
Edit: According to my records the DC-4 Purist was US$1750, so I don't know where US$3300 comes from either.

QuarrymanAnd it works. Glycine is selling watches here more often than not. It's hardly a "drop" anymore if same watches appear here every two months.

Eddy-GinieThe SW300-1 in my Airman is as accurate as other movements in this price range. I am unconvinced the ETA is superior.

wchuttI did do research on this and it appears that Sellita movements are slightly better. They have a more consistent rate. Sellita added an extra jewel to avoid friction also.

Is this going to be re-dropped until 1000 are sold?

But do you anticipate it returning to Massdrop in future?

boozedYeah, that is what I was trying to ask, but it came out wrong.
I don't have watch budget at the moment, but I'm pretty sure this is the 24 hour piece that I want. I'd love to pick it up around November.

Sellita is not a bad movement. But ETA is slightly better...How many units are available in this drop? 1000?

Zenith does not use Sellita. They used it for a short time in their entry level watches but went back to their in-house Elite movements.

Or perhaps Glycine has yet to update their specs as evidenced by this reply posted on WUS:
“Yes, we were starting to use for our collection 2017 not only ETA, but also Sellita movement. "So we are working with both movements and the quality grade is the same, elabore. You are right - indication right now, which movement is inside which model, is not sufficiently shown on our Website. We will improve this fact within next year.”
There is ample documentation of Sellita movements in Airman (SST-12 included) and other models in this and other threads:

As for my personal experience, my 1953 Vintage LE, DC-4 Purist, and Base 22 GA all have ETA movements visible through the caseback. I will make no assumptions about my SST-12 Purist as, like you, I am unwilling to open it up just to find out. Since it is an older pre-Invicta model (ref. #3903 vs. GL0146) an educated guess would be ETA.
Of note, the DC-4 and Base 22 both came back from the Invicta repair center with ETA 2893-2's.

Just arrived in Denmark! What can I say? I love it. Cant find one negative thing to complain about. Especially not the Price. And this looks so much like the very first Airman as far as I can see.

BarrySHi there, there was a miscommunication with our vendor; we were under the impression that the model would be an exclusive and only released to the general public at a much later date.
For the current Airman Quartz watch we have asked Glycine to make sure the release is at least later than when members receive their products.
Apologies for the confusion.

Vincent.HIt's still an excellent price given the current market, but will there be any recourse for this? Purposeful or not, it's clearly NOT an MD exclusive in any way, shape, or form.

ISN'T IT TIME TO SPEND A FEW MINUTES MAKING SURE THE LISTINGS ARE CORRECT BEFORE POSTING?
That was all in caps because it needs attention. Please think about this. If you're trying to make a few thousand dollars in sales, it is important to be clear on what you are selling and that the description is correct. On virtually every Glycine listing, the listing is incorrect and then is gradually corrected. Why not spend a few minutes and get it right the first time and spare yourself all these comments and confusion?

PatagonicoHistory right there. I think that's the first 24 hour watch, or is it the first 24 hour bezel, I can't remember. Glycine applied for a pattent at the time.
Just checked Wiki. First 24 hour rotating bezel.
