Hello everyone! I got my miyo when it first released and loved it very much. I used it for everything. Checking my masters, portable audio interface and enjoying all my favorite music. Unfortunately I lost it a few months ago and I have no idea how it disappeared. It still bothers me till this day. I looked for hours yesterday for a similar item and there is nothing. No one is selling them at the moment either. Im hoping one will pop up here at some point but we'll wait and see. @H2Designs Any chance you have miyo's left from the last stock? Any help would be great.
YouGots2ChillHi, I have some good news and bad news for you. I am not affiliated with H2Designs. I have an extra one of these Miyo's, but it doesn't turn on anymore. It has a short in the mini USB port on the Miyo itself. I found another Miyo on Reverb.com (the first one was an eBay purchase, I believe). My bad Miyo can probably be fixed by an electronics tech by simply heating up the USB connector on the main board and reflowing the solder back onto the board. If you know a good tech, I will gift you this spare one I have.
I bought 1 when first launched with crowdfunding, use plugged into my Mac, the thing sounds stunning so given its around 5 years old I'd like to get my hands on a replacement. They do run hot, but are designed to do so and the build quality allows for heat transfer from internal components to the aluminium shell without the use of heat conductive materials. A gem of a converter I'd hate to be without. 10/10!!! 100% will buy if a new run happens.
I compared the miyo to a Mytek 192 dsd (unfortunately via usb2, not via firewire). For me the imaging and treble was better with the miyo. The bass was better with the Mytek. The mytek costs 1500... Fabulous engineering, very well done @H2Designs.
Any word on when this drop may happen again? I see " Estimated ship date is Aug 14, 2018 PT", but I'm not sure if this refers to the old drop or the next one.
Its so tough too say as I only have the smsl idea dac/amp too compare against as the only two ive ever owned. I can't really tell a difference accept I'd say its able too push out more bass too my imr r1. With stuff like this you really need too be an audiophile too be able too tell differences in small nuances I suppose. But sure, I like it does the job.
Does the MIYO perform USB OTG so I can use a Micro(m)_to_USB-C(m) cable to my phone's USB-C port?
Or do I need to plug the MIYO's USB cable into an OTG adapter, thence into my phone?
(I need to find a USB-C splitter that will power both the phone and the MIYO, and it might also need to do OTG.)
