Product Description
Founded in Minneapolis in 2008, Hollows Leather draws inspiration from American heritage brands like Filson, Red Wing, and Pendleton. This pocket dump tray is cut from belt-weight leather and available in two sizes: the square version for all things pocket-size, from keys to coins to lighters, and the rectangular version, which can accommodate pens, stationery, and other desk items Read More
I am always amazed at things that actually sell there. Not just advertised, but sell. I have an empty bean can for coins. If I consider the $0.65 the price if a meal, then my coin holder was free. I picked up a magnetic holder that HFT was giving away (recurring promo). The knives usually stay on top of my dresser, unrestrained by leather or other boundaries. If I refrain from purchasing this (It's that Nancy Reagan thing- "Just say no."), then I can buy that $21 Kershaw fatback and put the change in my bean cans and the bills in my wallet. Jump in and dump in.
HollowsLeatherJust saying no to drugs was almost as effective as the war waged against them. Your product looks good and materials sound very good. I just can't imagine myself buying one. I wish you the best in your selling efforts. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
@BenTWP, do it, if you haven't already. I've been using one of these trays for a couple years (Jun 23, 2017 was the transaction date). They're lovely, heavy leather. It's as nice as the day I got it. Fits fully loaded cargoes worth of kit, if you don't mind stacking it neatly in the tray. Super nice addition to my bedside table.
Best part? The tray disassembles at the corners, and packs flat. I take it with me on trips. It's silly, packing a valet tray on trips, but maaaaaan, this thing's nice.
TrevorpleaseI think a natural veg tan would be doable next time. Chromexcel is unlikely I don't think the cost of the leather would work for Massdrop pricing, but I have a different kind of deal on the chromexcel trays on my site this month:

Just received my Large black tray today. I am happy I purchased the larger rectangular one, the square would have been too small. I really enjoy it and recommend it except that I think it is a bit overpriced for such a simple product that looks as though it was made very quickly but efficiently. The leather is thick and sturdy. The brass studs seem to have some gold coating peeling off of two of them? As I said before it is a very simple product and design, I am sure it could easily be made at home as a little project if you can get your hands on some scrap leather.
