I've had the impression that JVC never release their high-end IEMs like FW10000 in the US. It's great to get these FW1800 from drop as a legit dealer of JVC. I'd love to see FW10000 being brought in by Drop at some point, but this "dealership" will probbaly not work well, knowing that folks here are looking for discounts instead of full prices. I'm surpriced by the transparency of the mids/highs. This allows me to pair with the Sony Kimber Kable, which adds a bit thinkness without muddying the sound. The overall performance is a little better than hifiman RE2000 (not as transparent) and Faudio Minor (not as meaty in bass). FW1800 is also way better than audio technica CK2000Ti from all aspects. For those who prefer this flavor, you can argue that FW1800 is more enjoyable and less pericing than the faster Final A8000. On the other hand, Campfire Atlas only shines in bass and cannot keep up with these in any other things. I would say FW1800 is pretty competitive at this price among the dynamic driver IEMs. I wouldn't recommned this if you only want 1 or 2 IEMs, but I highly recommend it if you are collecting IEMs. The best technical performance (usually people consider it as best value) at this price point still comes from hybrid options. The timbre of these though is unique and worth listerning to.

Thank You! Was planning to give these another go with tips from the DROP + Etymotic ERX IEMs. My expectations were high at 'discounted price' of $399 USD, included tips should be good to go out of the box. At current discount to $219 USD, I am wondering if the market agrees.

citysinzJust got mine. At $219 it's a steal. It's much better than the FX1 by a large margin (I have both and have been A/B'ing) and competes well with iems in the $500+ range and higher - it certainly bests anything CA puts out at the kilobuck level. The FW1800 sounds organic, slightly warm signature, but overall balanced in a way that surprised me given its graph, clear, never muddy. Technicalities are great, detail, instrument separation and sound stage are all excellent. Love it.

If you want to upgrade......

It's about the JVC HA-FW1800 IEM, Packing - No doubt of good, Made in Japan Cable - only use 4.4mm, did try different type of cable but seeems Sony MUC-M12SB1 4.4mm have better performance at the moment. Run in - after 100 hrs was better than beginning, but not fruity enough especially in Treble, continue running up to 300 hrs, i think will have significant change Bass - very JVC bass remain unchange, definily no complain Earplugs - It's ok , but hard to find a replacement, i've try at least three different brand but still can't find better than orginal Sound - typical Japanese IEM, like : Sony, Acoustune , a bit different with US IEM ( Shure, Westone ), it's all depends on which type of sound you like most. This price could buy a past flagship IEM was very competive, you cannot buy the same price in your local market. Comment : If you want to upgarde this IEM, you may need some times to searching earplug & cable, it shall have big impact, i'm quite sure on this.

absolutely loving these

if you're hoping for ultra clinical or big sound stage, this isnt it. these are very warm and have an almost tubey like sound to them, but they are still very energetic with great bass, they also remain very composed at higher volumes. i disagree with some of the comments saying they are a one trick pony as most of my music sounds amazing, but they are definitely weaker with fast paced rock music. on the other hand anything with acoustic instruments is absurdly good and life-like. the build quality is also amazing...especially at he price i got them. i will add that i am no headphone expert, but iv had my eyes on these for a while because they seemed to fit the characteristics that i like and i am not disappointed, they are addicting to listen to.

I really like these IEMs

i always thought JVC was a low quality alternative. Then i read about the DX1000 full size headphones and bought a pair and changed my mind, then i tried these IEMs and was pleasantly surprised. Solid bass but not overdone, balanced sound over the entire frequency range, i like them so much i bought a second pair and had ear matched housings made. Very pleased with these IEMs

Easy to wear for hours
