CarpeDragonI think he was pointing out that the 62% off is just deceptive marketing and doesn't represent an amazing deal. It's like how everything at JCP is always on sale.

I got the black EMT version from Amazon on a lightning deal for 25.99, $28.23 after tax. This is a very similar price. So far I enjoy it. Its very hardy, though I haven't used it for much other than cutting paracord, using the screwdriver, and cutting potatoes.
RehclipNote to self: If I ever have a potato that needs to be cut, find the nearest EMT!

ElhrotcI am sorry to hear that happened to you. This inaccuracy of shipping speed can drive some people crazy. I hope to see a tracking number by the end of tomorrow.

I just wanted to go out and say that I'm really excited to get this knife in the mail. The steel it's made out of, for those who are interested, is a Chinese equivalent in many respects to the well-respected AUS-8 steel that legendary blade-manufacturer Spyderco uses for many of its folding blades (as well as fixed blades). I've used the steel myself in the past, before I got more into utility blades for carrying with me on mountain-biking/hiking/skiing trips. The steel is not as durable as some of the higher-end steels but it can be sharpened easier than most as a result and will hold an edge for a while slicing through thick cardboard, ropes or letters (what I use folding knives most for to be honest).
I've been a dick to Massdrop peeps for a while now, but have to say I'm really grateful and thankful for this drop. This offer enticed me and I didn't know about the Kershaw funxion until I saw it on their site. So thanks folks at Massdrop for putting up with the likes of me until now. I appreciate it.

McChickenThe USPS site isn't as good as UPS or FedEx. Sometimes it will take 48+ hours to update initially. I've had a package arrive before the shipping info has updated.

Hemispherical1Dunno if it's a provincial thing, but as far as I knew, assisted opening knives were allowed in Canada.

Hemispherical1Assisted opening knives are okay in Canada once they aren't spring-assisted so you should be okay.

make one without a liner lock and I will be able to buy it. Liner locked knives are illegal where I live. Slip joint instead.
