The Kizer Rattler is so named due to its textured titanium handle. The scales are milled with a snakeskin texture, just like the venomous snake that lends the knife its moniker Read More
Nice looking piece at a great price! Anyone know if its running bearings? I couldnt find any specs on handle thickness or blade stock either online? Im thinking of grabbing one. Anybody own one or know?
Yeah they do have a few S35VN models with washers, but as you noted they tend to be old models that were released during Kizer's adolescent period.
The Corto, GTi, and Mistral are the ones I have with washers, and they are no question some of my favorite knives. I'm easy though, I see a design I like, I see build quality that I like, and materials that are good for the price, and I crush hard.
OmniseedSame here. I gravitate towards good designs as well as look for certain specs that fit my personal requirements otherwise I'd be buying every knife on the market LOL. The 2 models i refered to were some of my first ti framelocks and dont even have names, are tip down rh Carry only, as well as quite a few years old. While they are nice the stuff Kizer puts out now are definitely improvements. The rattler fits my requirements and looks to be a good design so i look forward to recieving it.
PumpIronNah, not my YouTube. I just gathered info found on websites and in videos and got it all together in one place for the other MD members who wanted to talk about it.
Nothing revolutionary there...yet ;)
Just a convenient place to chat and share and keep it all together
I've waited for the KB flipper to come back but now I see this. Do I go with the drop I've been waiting for or the one that seems to be the better deal?
That does help a great deal actually. The KB flipper is what I've waited for but I dont know if I can pass on this knife at this price. I got a Kyre off Amazon for 108 and it might be the best value for money I have ever gotten on a high end knife. This could actually be a better deal than that. I believe I have no choice but to switch and wait another month for the flipper. Thanks for the advice!
Looks like the standard price on the street for this is $185. I found it at a place I have never seem before and I am un-sure if it's a legit business for $129.
Based on my 5 minutes online search this looks to be the cheapest this knife is on the market at this time.
There is a slight recurve on this blade which is always fun for sharpening, only negative I personally see on initial review.
What the hell?
No where in the description did it say there was a limited number of pieces on this one, and it ends 4 days early?
@kyleemj - are you guys no longer advertising when a drop has a limited number available??
dobbermnYeah, Adamsg pointed out where it was....just in a different spot then I'm used to looking, with this new theme
Oh well, now I'll know for next time
Ltk review measured blade stock at .126 and actual weigh coming in less than the massdrop description at 4.2 ounces for anyone wondering and the scales are .45 thick and contoured.
Can we get this model color anodized at this $99 price point in this drop or a later one? If so I am sold! I love my lancer2, but this improves upon it with thinner stock, longer cutting edge, & no finger choil. Recurves make wonderful cutters, and they’re really not hard to learn to sharpen with $5 ceramic rod, a sharpmaker, narrow stones, etc.
