I bought it for the IIS connection and low and behold that's what I use now, well half of it. It turns out the IIS output is actually inverted phase to the coaxial output. My Topping DX7 Pro does not have the phase select switch and this USB-100 has made it complete and it really is a good DAC, they made each other good value for money! By the way, I've bought the LKS power supply for the USB-100 too, I like to have a complete suit!
Good price, no interference from computer usb. Amanero 384 gives the sound a pleasant tint. The signal sends a coax to the Airist R2R Dac. I recommend it!
Let me caveat this that my DAC is a Topping D70 so by no means a bad DAC to begin with...
Just wow the improvement in sound is impressive. I have this set up on the ISS input on my DAC and simultaneously have the USB input set up on the DAC as well so I can switch input methods to compare.
The sound stage is noticeably larger and instrument/voice separation has improved. Lows seem to hit harder and faster. There wasn't much or any noise to begin with so I can't notice any improvement there. I know you're thinking it's a placebo effect but since I can compare the two inputs side by side almost instantaneously with the simple switch of a drop-"up" list in my taskbar, I can say concretely there is a difference.
I can only give it 4 stars though because of the pricing/value. I can't imagine why it needs to be so expensive. While it might improve your listening experience by a certain percentage I don't know if the ROI is there for most people. It's like upgrading from a 9 to a 9.5.
