One has to be fairly desperate to send strangers they’ve never met $1,000 for a DAC they’ve never heard.

RayFWell I was one of those and don't consider myself desperate at all. It's not like LKS is a "fly by night" company. There were plenty of reviews on the product and Shenzen Audio and Amazon carry their line, so I don't think it's as risky as you imply. I've been VERY happy with the purchase.
