KappaIt depends. This light could give you a tighter aperture and a faster shutter speed but it would not perform well in perspective of color rendition. That is why we still use old-school bulbs at studios.
I have this item. I have not set up a temporary landing zone since getting this light, but I have used it on backpacking trips. For anyone who spends time overnight in the backcountry this is a very nice to have piece of equipment. It serves as a tabletop candle in low mode, or a camp lantern in high mode. You can suspend it from the ceiling of your tent as a reading light that will not burn a hole in anything, or suspend it from a branch so that everyone can play cards without headlamps on and risk blinding everyone playing. It works better than any fuel-based or battery-based laterns I have ever used and is much smaller and less complex in design. Lightweight, no bulk, simple operation, great illumination! Get it if you use lanterns, or bring candles to a campsite.
Blade4uA Note From The Legal Department: As with all cool stuff, “battery not included”. We do not recommend the use of Rechargable batterys with this flashlight. It is designed to use a off the shelf alkaline & lithium. We do not recommend use of higher voltage batteries. Any attempt to modify these lights will void the warranty.
Is this the Rev2 strobe (with the Cree XP-5 R5/G2 LED), and does it come with extra o-ring per the product's description on the CountyComm's website? Thanks!
bob.corrigan@bob.corrigan - it should be. Rev1 didn't have the anodized red ring or the glow-in-the-dark grommet around the emitter, and used a D-cell rather than a C-cell battery. Hope this helps.
Why do you have the MSRP as $59.45 when CountyComm's own web-listing is $49.50?

I do want to recognize that your shipping is a lot cheaper however.
Also is this the rev2 or the older rev1 model?

Yes it's waterproof..
It can function as a short range low output flashlight (or lantern), in two low output levels, and as a signal low-freq strobe light.
This light is amazing! The light puts out an amazingly amount of soft light.ordering my second one now! It doesn't project light it's more of illumination
