All insulated Klymit mat go from R4.4 to R1.9.
This explain why I can't sleep on snow with the mine...
So, insulated, but only summer use... forget winter.

-5°C on air during night is possible with a hot ground, if day was hot and/or under sunlight all day.
This mat is R1.9 with new standard... so it mean, for a ground near 3~4°C.
Not enough for winter use (snow is -1°C in better way, and can be lower... -5°C is commom, -10°C could happen. Ice is even colder).
A mat with R4.4 must be able to be confort for ground near -20°C... this klymit can't.
RedfishTheCatNot that anyone will read this probably, but I feel that Kylmit's pad do not test well on the new system. That being said, I use a 20° Massdrop quilt with a static V lite and am very comfortable down to freezing 32F. I have many nights at that temp. At 25F I start to feel some cold. Overall that is much warmer than a 1.9 rating. My Uberlite with a 2.3 rating is so cold to me even at 45F. So just my experience.
And I would never expect a 4.4r value to be good at -20C, that just seems unreasonable at that temp. That would be like using an X-lite. Maybe if paired with a CCF under it to boost to 6r or more. But of course, everyone sleeps differently.
pol2000I placed an order for the short pad right before it went out of stock, but it didn't ship and they refunded the money. Hopefully it will be back soon.
Tried this out in my ENO Sub7 on the weekend and it's a great companion! The insulation kept my back and bum toasty down to about 40 degrees... can't wait to try actually put the combo to use somewhere other than my back yard.
I so wish this came in the regular length but in the wide size. I would definitely buy it then. I don't want to carry extra weight for length I don't need.
ladycamperI've seen some people cut them to length and heat seal it. I would contact klymit to confirm whether this works with this version first though
I hope Massdrop and Klymit considers having an additional "regular-wide" option that is the same length and design as the regular length pad, but between 23"-25" width in the next drop. I think many would agree that this would be a great option as one would not need to increase their weight by 1/2 pound or have to cut their pad and void their warranty to reduce the weight just to get something wider.
For people having slow deflation problems, my Hammock V pad held pressure for a week (inside) but the Long Ultralight V I bought from this drop lost pressure overnight.
Below is at least one other person who mentioned that it could be the deflation valve leaking, and they showed a picture of an o-ring they put on it to seal it. I went to a hardware store and bought an assortment of o-rings (measure yours and take that info with you), and now both pads hold pressure for several days.

Not the best picture, but you can see where the black o-ring goes. It works for me, and it's inexpensive.
You haven't said, but I will offer a suggestion.
If you look at the edge of the fitting the cover snaps into, you'll see that it is chamfered at about a 45 degree angle. The chamfer is also small. An o-ring need only be large enough to fill that space, and a larger one can prevent the plug from snapping in to the socket. Then air pressure alone is enough to push the valve open.
The o-ring I chose is only about the cross-section large enough to fill that chamfer when the cover is snapped in, and that provides the air seal. The existing snap lock provides the mechanical strength to hold the cover in place against the air pressure.
The perfect o-ring is a little bit smaller in it's major diameter than the plug so it fits solidly against the plug, and the cross section is only large enough to fill that chamfer to provide an air seal.
Perhaps you have a an o-ring that is too thick to allow the plug to snap into it's connection and catch well?
