Hey everyone!
Today, we’re kicking off a new shipping method test in European Union countries, so we can better evaluate how we can improve this experience for members located in these markets.
Select audio products will be available to ship from a warehouse in Europe with delivery expected within 5 business days. Most will arrive at your door with no post-office pickup, though some exclusions apply. All prices are inclusive of VAT.
Which products are included?
This is a test, so we’ve set this up to include a select handful of products with limited quantities. Here’s what we’ll have in store:
For more information, and to answer some questions you might have, see the full talk post.
We appreciate your support and welcome your feedback with this experience.
Good or bad, we want to hear it all so let us know what you think.
Thank you all for being a part of the Massdrop Community.
Thanks, The Massdrop Team
EDIT (4/2/2019):
We are now sold out of the product for this test. Whether you made a purchase or showed your enthusiasm in general, we thank you for your support! We’ll keep you posted on next steps.
DuncanI love that Massdrop is doing EU Exclusives! I would purchase a product for sure, if there was something i needed. Like the TR-X00 Purplehearts or the THX 789 AAA, or the Little Dot MKIII
DuncanHi, Duncan, and thanks to Massdrop for this initiative.
To make all products available for EU shipping would simplify the process, removing the annoying customs procedure. It will save time and money for all of us.
But it would be even more welcome for products manufactured in Europe. To be honest, I felt myself in an embarrassing position when I ordered the Sennheiser 6xxs. It doesn't seem the most logical thing (and not sustainable either) to be sent a product from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean when it has been manufactured 30 minutes away from my Irish address...
I hope that in the future all products manufactured in EU are available for direct shipping from EU, in addition of saving time and money, it will contribute to a cleaner environment.
Kind regards
Please keep this eu thing rolling i really like the concept of massdrop but unforntunately i have to pay 24% tax if i order things from the us, and im looking for a dac/amp combo like this one but i have to wait a bit until i have money
Ok, Massdrop may want to update their info then because having a page saying that it can be powered by a battery (there propably are 15VAC batteries that convert DC to AC but that not the most common thing at all) and having a picture showing 12V under the power jack can have people thinking that it is not 15VAC that is expected.
The simplest way in the end would be to just get a plug adapter that contains a 220 to 110 transformer, except if the frequency is important too.
Nico0807The Objective 2 CAN be powered by 2 9V batteries.
This product has the Grace SDAC slotted in where batteries could have gone.
I believe NwAvGuy designed it this way, because power conditioning is very important. To avoid having poor rectification affect audio performance, all of it is done inside the O2. This way a poor power plug can't mess things up.
Good news: the US AC adapter is capable of up to 240V (at least the one I received is, always check before use), so I only needed a simple plug converter to use it.
