PmacKeep in mind, the 6XX is modeled exactly like the 650, which is $300+. So I guess in that sense, it's cheaper?? But definitely strange that they're increasing the price. I feel like massdrop is a lot different now than when it started out... They've changed their roots in a sense.

PmacMassdrop realized the headphones were priced too cheap as shown by the blowout tens of thousands of cans they sold through this drop. Increasing the price by 10% and reducing the number of days remaining will get all the people off the sidelines and into their ledger.

PmacDo you get the HD650 for 300$ in Germany? The cheapest I could quickly find is 320€ (360$) but the mainstream seems to be 350€ (ca 400$), so good luck to get it for 300$. https://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/OffersOfProduct/139085.html

PmacUnfortunately, it’s supply & demand hiking up the price. I don’t regret buying the HD6xx... even though I had warranty service on the jack (its weakest part).

ScubaManLakeHuronMany drop-made gear were undersold to begin with. So not really as simple as a business supply and demand curve thing. Being a new brand, the goal is to create interest and traffic. By releasing a lot of drop branded gear really cheap is a good way of doing so, however, this isn't ideal as they are underselling from the recommended retail price and in short, this leads to lost revenue. Now that they are more popular and have the consumer base developed, they're pushing prices up to their intended retail price. Also, how much was the warranty? Could just be better off buying a replacement cable from Amazon ($20). Though then again, these aren't your typical crappy skull candy cables that break in a month or two. Had mine for almost 2 years now, still working well.
