Sound and comfort on the elex are excellent. Absolutely no complaints there. Typically run them off a dx3 pro at -25 dB on high gain but notice they sound smoother off my HA-5000. It's also the first headphone I had in a long time where I didn't have to padswap due to comfort or sound issues.
I do have reservations regarding quality control though. Fresh out of the box, the leather on the headband had distinctly odd creases on it and the right cup had a chip and a few scuffs on it. Admittedly, the leather thing could just be variance in the material, but the chips/scuffs are far more concerning at the $700 price.
adeadcrabThe part that of the headband that doesn't make contact with your head is some kind of pleather. The part that does actually touch your head is made of the same material as the earpads.
