Well that's music to my ears thanks.👊😎 My tracking number still says it's heading to a USPS location but if I remember correctly that's all I could see last time. Right up until the day I opened my mail box and saw my Gerry Mcginnis Rowdy 😲lol. Hopefully that's the case this time.

Why did you make such a beautiful and fun knife, sir
Hi folks, Mike here. Just want to drop in and say that i had the 3 prototypes here for few days now and im super happy with how they turned out. They are impressive knives if i can say so myself... Everything from the fit and finish, action, grind, construction... Really well executed. Im very excited that people can finally get much more affordable than my custom pieces or even midtech runs I had in the past, but still very high quality knife designed by me. I hope You all are too and I hope You'll enjoy them as much as im enjoying these 3 i have here... Thank You all! Best regards, Mike

shellxcatI'm pretty sure this is one of the Massdrop Made Models that they have in stock and ready to ship out the next day. Once the time runs out on the drop it just starts right back up the next day. However this is only a guess you can reach out to the customer service to make sure 100%.
Massdrop needs to make a logo that isn't just their name. The positioning of the logo on this particular knife makes it look a lot worse than it does on the other models.

Completely agreed! If I bought a second one I would have two green pelagic! Lovely milling. I can practically feel it in my hand right now.

The Tashi collab proved to me that I would virtually pay anything to get what I want (and in multiple copies or iterations). But if every collab breaks 200 or 250, I’m screwed... :(
Make a new logo. Not because the current one looks bad (well sort of), but because the Gavko one looks so much better. Here's something I threw together.

I feel like this is simple enough to engrave into the blade and at the same time be easily identifiable as a Massdrop logo (because of the "M").
I made a few others but looking at them you wouldn't instantly associate them with Massdrop which is bad for brand recognition (which is what logos are for). But this one is pretty fun. It's basically the Golden Gate bridge (because Massdrop is located in San-Francisco) with "Massdrop" written on it, but I don't think it'd look good on a knife.

We got in touch with Michal Gavac, the solo designer and maker behind Gavko knives, through Chris and Elliot Williamson, a.k.a. Ferrum Forge Knife Works, who collaborated on the “Spinner” model, which Nick Shabazz called his “favorite FFKW knife.” Michal’s developed a strong following in the knife community for his unique designs and some wild blade grinds.
We discussed possible projects and decided the best thing we could do for the community would be to offer a production version of a popular existing Gavko model. This design has previously been known as the “Thrasher” or “Trasher” on his custom handmade versions that normally sell for $1000 to $1500. It’s been offered in a variety of blade profiles, but usually with a flipper tab opening mechanism. While this opening style is obviously popular, we felt the protruding tab detracted a bit from the smooth, sharky lines of the profile when open or closed. With the right geometry and a bit of practice, thumb studs can offer the same kind of snappy action as a flipper tab.
Once we settled on thumb studs, we looked at the design and used them to carry the shark theme a bit further here by making them slightly oversized and using PVD coating so they resemble a shark's eyes.
Aside from the awesome design, we’re stoked about a few particular elements of this knife that are first-time features for any Massdrop knife collab:
* Scales milled on both sides of the handle * Left-handed versions with fully reversed lockbar and pocket clip (+ $10) * New Aqua color, which is modeled after Michal’s coloration on handmade versions * Color-matched titanium hardware for a framelock knife
A few notes on the drop before we get started...
* Only the first production run will be serialized. The run is limited to 1200 pieces. * Our Estimated Ship Date is December 14th, 2018
We're glad to be working with Michal and launching another collab with one of the community's favorite makers!

JonasHeinemanI’m so glad that you guys decided to make this without a flipper. I personally prefer thumbstuds. Great work 🤙!

I agree 100% as I've said before I know people always complain about the Massdrop logo. However this case is extremely>BAD<The Massdrop logo Kinda stands out on this knife like the word bad does in this post. 😯😰😨😲 Like many other's have stated I understand it's your product and you have every right to advertise it as such. I'm just hoping you can re consider the area and style in which you do so. P.S. Regardless your going to sell a ton of these as you well know. To be perfectly honest I've already ordered one myself just prior to this post. Pelagic in Aqua-(Blue-Green) of course. That's the stand out of the bunch IMHO. lol Anyways I guess I'm just hoping someone at the top might consider all the pushback there getting on this Logo situation Thanks. Trevor

Mine actually gets dropped off by USPS. Fedex hands it off I guess

SonGoku I tried my tracking number with USPS and it said the label has been created and there still awaiting the package. I'm guessing the Tracking doesn't kick in until FedEx hands it over to USPS? I do remember something like that being talked about on a different drop months back if I'm not mistaken.

Anyone else notice each of these WE collaborations getting steadily more expensive? Not trying to be a negative Nancy, but they're obviously trying to find what the upper limit is on what we'll pay for these.....

Do you know that thumbstuds take more work to manufacture and design a knife around than flippers do? That alone could significantly and justifiably contribute to the higher price. And do you also know that in collaborations like this, designers have a say in the pricing of the final product? And is $50 really a prohibitive difference for most people who buy knives like this? Even if one were to grant the argument you guys are making about the prices steadily getting higher (which is demonstrably not the case), every one of these Massdrop collabs has been a steal comparative to the rest of the knife market. When it's all said and done, you're complaining that the awesome deal you're getting isn't quite as awesome as the awesome deal you got last time. What a world.

AstrodinosaurI‘ve purchased the Falcon, the Falcon Wing, the Gent, the Crux Juggernaut, the Perpetua, the Prism, the Buc, the Terzuola, the Zinker Dogtooth, and the Laconico Keen. I’m not complaining, I’m just stating that they’re not going to sell 1200 units at this price. The prices have definitely been trending up.

I seriously lucked out with shipping and got mine today! Everything I was hoping for. The anodization, especially on the hardware looks great, and that thin slicey blade geometry is fantastically sharp. Immediately kicked anything else out of my pocket. I do wish they swapped the logos on the blade for the lefty version but it’s understandably impractical. Still, on it’s merits as a knife alone, I’m truly impressed. Good luck to everybody else waiting!

Nice got mine in today in sand color. Would have been absolutely perfect if they had an option for the black blade vs satin in this, other than that I love it

The finish is very unique. It almost looks looks like a coating instead of Ano. but the edges are very slightly distressed. The handles were tumbled in a very mild abrasive. You really need to look close at the edges to even detect this. The color is far from anything else I own also. I'm actually happier than I thought I would be. When I purchased I felt i was taking a chance on the color but it's Awesome!

The lefty version doesn't have the logos reversed so we'll have to look at that ugly massdrop print on the blade. Reversing 2 CAD drawings costs extra why? It takes all of 2 minutes to do, if that. Feed the CAD files into the CNC machine and there's no difference but of course penalize left-handed people some more. Plus we get 3 choices versus the 9 that the right handed people get.

Or simply learn/train to open and close right-handed knives with your left hand as I did.
S.Military resided in my front-left pocket for years and being right-handed I have no difficulty opening/closing/deploying with my left non-dominant hand.
Can't remember ever seeing a left-handed worm-drive circular saw, but yet have built a lot of houses, worked with many left-handers. How about left-handed chainsaws. Never heard a logger cry about left-handed tools discrimination.
S.Military was actually offered in left-handed option for years, and I would be surprised to find many lefties that even know the option existed.
Really cool of this left-handed option being made available. Belaboring if as a right-handed dominate person that I might order a left-handed version to try out.
