Well, I'm not 100% sure what's going on as I just received a notification that my item has shipped. Granted, it links me to FedEx and it says the shipment is being prepared. So I guess I'll continue to hold my breath and see if that status updates to shipped later tonight/tomorrow.
Why do I never even receive these supposed "it's delayed" emails? Anyway... In my estimation, Drop can't update us if the Vendor is completely neglecting communication, and I suspect this is the case here once again. Regardless, Drop should be giving a general update at the very least, especially in light of the clear failure of the email notification system (Again, I didn't receive any email update and this is not the first time this happened). I understand Drop could probably not say much other than "the vendor is working on it and will update us soon" - but that's still better than nothing!
However the majority of the responsibility here is on the vendor's side, and I just can't wrap my head around the fact that they won't even spend a single minute to update their customers (and this isn't the first vendor to do this). I might be wrong of course, and maybe it's all Drops fault but that wouldn't explain why they are actively updating the community about a variety of other products (same for other Vendors). They're support is pretty quick too (literally just got a response within hours about a problem) So I don't know...
I don't buy the "it's-difficult-to-connect-from-China-because-of-internet-regulations"-Excuse coming from some vendors either. Yes, I get that websites are blocked etc etc, but I easily communicate with China on a daily basis. If I can do it, then anyone can. Anyway, I don't get it, but I'm cancelling tomorrow if there's no update by then.
[Edit: 3 days later and still no update. I cancelled]
Thank you Drop, for waiting until the day the product was supposed to ship to inform people that it will be delayed. I really enjoy the commitment to professionalism and communication in a timely manner.
Doubtful. Even in their email, Drop says they aren't going to notify us unless it's going to be delayed by more than 30 days. So who knows? Could be tomorrow, could be 28 days from now. We aren't getting any sort of update or explanation from Drop right now, which is incredibly frustrating.
Wish the switch opener and brush were add-ons or something for this drop, but I get why they wouldn't be. I'd totally buy this if I had an opener and a fancy lookin' brush (and lube, of course, haha)
Pretty cool bit of plastic, though. Looks pretty good quality, all things considered. And handy!
VALAISEIf you need a decent brush set, I use these from Amazon.

The largest one is pretty good for just about everything you'd need a brush for in this hobby while the 2nd largest is great for more precise lube jobs. The smaller ones are pretty good for cleanup if you get lube on anything you didn't intend to.
It looks like this is the case, but worth checking anyway: the stem and spring holders aren't cut all the way through, right? I ask because if the spring holder is cut all the way through then my springs are going to just sit right on my desk which doesn't seem ideal, but if not then it seems like lube would pool down at the bottom which... also doesn't seem ideal. idk, maybe I'm overthinking this.
iamanIt doesn't look like it's cut all the way through from the photos. But in regard to the lubing part: Why would you lube the springs and put them back into the holder anyway? Wouldn't it make more sense to put them back in the switch after you lube them? That's what I would do.
