...same bundle on amazon for $130, and you don't have to wait a month. Except it comes with a pop filter that will actually work, and you will have to get an xlr cable. Worth it? I think so

Yep! That's the reason I chose to join the drop as well :)

Yes, but not for the reason you think. If you search for this on most other websites, you also get the mic for $120, HOWEVER what you wouldn't get is the shockmount, the pop filter, and the cable like you do with this one. You'd end up spending much more if you bought all those parts through, say, Amazon. The reason for this is that the manufacturer places limits as to how low a product can be MARKED as (because it will pop up on shopping search) so deals can only be made by adding additional "things" that will come with it.

Hey guys. We really wanted to make this drop special. What you see here has never been offered before by MXL. Sure, you can buy the mic by itself for $119, but that's just it... The mic by itself. The shock mount, metal pop filter, 25' cable for only a few bucks more is unheard of. Don't sleep on this drop. You'll be kicking yourself later.

Yes, It will work with the mixer and boom arm. You won't need a clip since it includes one, along with a shock mount. Thanks!

What am I missing here? $600 MSRP. The mic is $120 at BH. Are the pop filter, and cable worth $480?

brianwithaniThe MSRP of the microphone itself is $280, however most stores just sell it for around $120~ for some reason (My guess is that they were not selling due to the odd color scheme, or they just do that so you think you're getting a really good deal of over $100 off) so it kinda makes sense that they would mark the MSRP of this up so high, but then just sell it a lot cheaper. More sales either way, I guess.

OatzmealThat still makes the pop filter and cable more than the mic's MSRP.

I am looking for some studio bundle kit. I want to start my YouTube channel and I am willing to spend around $150 on my audio gear. I personally like the focusrite Scarlett solo studio bundle. Please recommend something. Ps- I live in India 😅

Icywolfe is misinformed; a"good" preamp for 80-120 bucks? Get real, $120 will get you junk. You'll be spending $500-$1500 for a "good" preamp, and more for a nice one. Also, condenser mics pick up only sounds from the front? Rubbing cables can create noise? Are you rubbing a mic level cable on an AC power cable? Anyone that buys a Blue Snowball (or any mic with USB out) will soon find the limitations once they start putting in high levels like a guitar amp, loud singer, horns, or a snare drum. Please, please educate yourself before posting absolute garbage, because you only end up misinforming others that are not aware.

NashvilleAudioGuyLook at his price constraints. If he said: I have a ton of money then the 1500 USD is fine. You go cheap you get cheap he needed cheap. Sure with cheaper ones there will be that hiss but that can be removed/lessened with an audio editing software.
The guy originally said he could only spend 150 USD on audio gear this microphone bundle is about 116 USD. So what preamp/audio interface can you even get with 34 USD? There is that Blue Iclcle but that is garbage and sounds like garbage much worse than a snowball. There is that Chinese XLR interface on Amazon for exactly 30 USD but that has a hiss that is impossible to miss.
Yes, if you rub cheap cables you can hear the noise in the recording just listen very closely. Cheap as in the random Amazon brands.
Or will you say "Save up your money and don't buy anything" ?

NanoFurryIf they had found the same bundle at a better price then the one offered by massdrop they SHOULD post it. However posting a link to a bundle, that can't even be compared to this drop and having the audacity of calling this drop a fraud is not okay.

UberNaught? I fail to see how that link shows anything. It's at least the right microphone this time around, but it says nothing about the cable length or brand, same goes for the pop-filter, and the list price is $330 . Whereas this drop is the same microphone, MXL pop-filter, 25' MXL cable AND a MXL shock mount, with a list price at $600 (which is maybe a bit higher then it should be).
In the end, the drop is still $5 cheaper then the bundle you linked.

UberNaught"The fraud that it is"? About 3 more minutes of research, and you'd find how ridiculous that is.
If no one else has taken the time to search the extreme value add to this bundle, here's the rest:

Hopefully we can put this to bed now.

Just got it in Canada. The specs on here are incorrect, at least according to the documentation and product catalog that came with the microphone. Specifically, SNR is 78 dB, sensitivity is 22 mV/Pa, and max SPL for 0.5% THD is 140 dB.
If that's true (which seems to be the case), then it's a pleasant surprise. :)

Horrible price! Amazon has almost the same setup , but with a carrying case, for $149.99. The Amazon version comes with a V67 Heritage edition microphone so I am not absolutely positive that that is an equal to this model. I would think they are so close that only a sound engineer would be able to tell the difference. Also, with Black Friday coming up, you could get better pricing on mics. I got a Blue Yeti last year on Black Friday with the (made for Yeti) shock mount on Amazon for $137.98 all up. While I know the Yeti is a USB Mic and this is not, Amazon also had the Audio Technica AT-2020 for a competing price point as the Yeti. So, in conclusion, you can most likely pick up an AT-2020 with the toys included in a couple of weeks for a little less than this drop and I do know that the AT-2020 is better than the MXL listed here.
