Although it’s only the size of a typical office pen, the Nextorch K3 casts a beam nearly 200 feet. Powered by two AAA batteries, it offers up to 180 lumens of output on the highest setting Read More
I was tempted as this seems to be a decent price, but it looks to burn through the batteries faster than the single AAA Maratec coppers I just ordered.
i have too many flashlights anyway. Knives and flashlights, I must be stopped.
I've had my K3 for over 4 years now. The mode cycle is H-M-L-Strobe and all modes, including strobe, are memorized after few seconds of being left on. Memory mode tends to be not all that common for AAA lights.
The rear switch is a forward clicky; it's got a good amount of resistance and a solid click, but because it's protruding I've occasionally had it turn on in my pocket.
This light is also a bit long - you'll need about 5.5" of depth in your pocket for it to be seated fully. Depending on the pants(usually shorts), it will bottom out.
The retention of the pocket clip, like all wire clips, isn't the tightest.
Besides those nitpicks, it's a great pen light.
guvnorcan you unscrew the head a bit to prevent accidental turn ons? I do this with my thrunite pen light and it works well (it also has a really easy to enable switch)
mike240sePhysical lockout is not possible with this light as both sides of the light feature spring loaded contacts for the battery that maintain contact until the head is completely screwed off.
I have had mine for about 9 months to a year now. It stays turns on to the last setting I used for longer than 5 seconds. It's is still running just like day 1. I use it daily, pulling cable and around the job. Just signed up for another one. Left it on a job site for about 2 weeks and hated using a different one. Very slim profile. It rides in my left front pocket clipped next to my pen, has not worn on my pants. It has only come on twice by accident when hauling gear in and out of jobs. Love it, can't wait for the backup.
Small review from me.
Used one as an EDC for about a month, you see the metal bracket at the top of the pocket clip, it's sharp on the inside so it will tear your jeans. You can't disconnect the battery so there is always a bit of drain, had to charge it even though I didn't use it. Had to send back my first one because of flickering light, the second one was ok though.
Hope this was helpful for some!
The-Robit's kind of amusing (or frustrating if you're thinking of joining the drop) they haven't changed the dimensions for the drop yet. not quite what I thought when they said "EDC."
gdc303Hey @gdc303 - That's so odd. It shows that your package is in Canada but I don't have an update after it arrived there on 12/10. You may want to call Asendia on your side and see if they have further information. See the tracking # for your info and hope you receive it shortly! - http://tracking.asendiausa.com/t.aspx?p=UM945558346US
McNorthernLooks like we might be finally getting these, although they are shipping it to me in NJ (from NJ) using DHL global mail (i didnt even think DHL still existed for domestic mail) and i wont get it till 4 days after shipping. I waited this long so i guess i can wait a bit longer.
McNorthernI got tired of waiting. Purchased one on Amazon and got it 2 days later. I'm going to be very careful on who the seller is before I buy from Mass again.
I’m a medic and I’ve carried this clipped to my undershirt for several years and could not be more pleased.
Initially intended as a backup to a light I carry on my belt, in practice I reach for this one almost exclusively. I can use it for exams or searching an area and everything between. Mine came with a diffuser I affixed so to keep it attached to the light even when not used and find it especially useful for getting driver’s attention is certain circumstances.
its been dropped, abused, and pushed to limits I never expected it to survive and it has not let me down once. Buy with confidence.
